Power Steering Fluid Cooler

Is a Power Steering Fluid Cooler a necessary addition to the RB engine (ER34)?

Anyone runs it in their ride? Any significant difference or it's just a nice to have item?

Or you could just try synthetic ATF which handles temperature better than regular fluid.

I'm putting one in my 32 as I plan to be sideways with lots of rpm most of the time

Having trouble squeezing it around the GTR cooler piping though

Bump for an old thread, which line do you use for the cooler?

The one from the steering rack to reservoir?

The reservoir to the pump?

I put put it inline with the return to the resevoir.

Personally, because my car had hydraulic hicas, I will be using the extra pumping circuit to circulate fluid through the cooler (currently just looped).

What? The R32 GTR already has a cooler for the power steering. It is behind the grill on the drivers side. If you want a bigger one then just bin the stock finned tube and hook the new cooler up to the original piping.

R32 GTSt and there is no finned tube that I have ever found. There was a loop of pipe that ran along the bottom radiator support but that's it and I'm pretty sure I binned that when I removed the HICAS solenoid/piping.
