ha only as u got bored and decided to slide a bit.. you would have had me by an easy second else.

that said compared this years to the video from last year, they have tightened up the course quite a bit. esp coming out of oh S$%t and onto the back stright, made it so you cannot carry so much speed.

So that makes this years times that much mroe impressive!

was good fun, I think I could have got down to a 68 or a high 67 yesterday if I had done my last 3 runs. Gives me something to aim for next time though, I still don't know the track well enough so probably can get my time down by a fair bit with more practice. Thanks for the pics John and Martin, see you guys at DECA and maybe Calder too.

yes was an awesome day.

my first time on the track, and first for the ute aswell.

i need more experience, and the ute needs some suspension work. but i had an absolute ball out there

thanks to everyone who kindly offered advice on the day

and apologies for the rotor noise..

looking foreward to some more track time

hopefully with a car that will behave through corners!

WooHoo a new PB :D

Ended up being a great day and congrats to everyone for driving within their limits. Was a bit worried when I arrived that the day would end up a wash out as it was heavily overcast and felt like it was about to rain. All we ended up with was a few spots of rain during the day and I ended up with sunburn....again :(

Had a bit of a heart starter in the first session when I found out why so many cars have written themselves off at Oh Shit. Came over the crest turned into the kink to find out I was carrying a little too much speed - car stepped sideways, then tank slapped the otherway before I managed to straighten it for the next corner, all while going down that rollercoaster section! Needless to say I spent the rest of that run with a thumping heart rate while thinking I really didn't want to be that guy who writes off their car on the first session

Anyway was wrapped with a new PB of 57.92 which put me in 4th overall. I will put the incar footage up of my two best runs where you can see how hard it it to get an unsorted GTR around some of those corners

Oh and top pics Martin

Okay guys need a bit of help for a youtube noob.

I am uploading a vid with an aspect ratio of 720x576, yet once it has uploaded it appears with a ration of around 4:3.

Is there a way I can keep the aspect ratio as it was at 720x576?

Nice footage there mate! It was a great day, they weather held off, barely, and everybody had heaps of runs.

I've gotta say, street tyres just dont cut it when you're pushing it, staying in second all the time and the car comes on boost = sideways  My runs were alot more ragged and less controlled, but still fun! Can't wait to go back and give it another go!

And Oh Shit! is an extremely well named part of the track, damn thats a steep downhill off camber entry to a corner!

as mentioned it was a brilliant day and good to represent the trusty skyline amongst the sea of subys and evos.

was pretty pleased with a 60.83 for my first time there as its a very tricky track to get a heavy gtr around quick.

got home exhausted and burnt but really looking forward to going back again to try and crack the minute mark.

..and thanks to the gumby that gave me no.13

Awesome times Ant. Looked like I could give you a run for your GT-R money early on, but then somehow you found a second...(which I STILL cant find by the way)

I had a good slide coming up to the crest at Oh Sh1t, just got it straight again before the crest, but like you said, talk about a heartstarter!

Well done on your 4th outright, with only a few sorted race cars and someone with LOTS of experience in front of you!

Thanks mate, your times weren't too shabby either  I think my vids highlight how average the GTR handles without a decent suspn setup particularly with turn-in. There are about 3 corners where it is a real struggle to get the R to turn in - when it didn't my brain told me to keep turning the wheel even though it wouldn't actually help it turn any better LOL :D I also need to try and keep my hands in the 9 and 3 positions but I'm scared my girly like arms won't do much once the wheel is past the 1 and 7 positions ;)

At least your slide near 'oh sh1t' was BEFORE the crest mine was after down the rollercoaster section
