Yeah man got it. Will hopefully let you know some info in the next couple of days.

Glad to hear your getting a bike Phil. Will definitly have to go for a ride when you get it.

Yeah I miss not having a bike. Very much looking forward to the R6 :)

What is peoples take on this, just got this done 20 mins ago.

The dyno operator mentioned that its running rich, I had an inclination towards this, but wanted to confirm my suspicions. Leaving flame work everywhere was a good indicator though.

What do the standard RB25 run as far as AFR levels?

Main question really, is it reasonably safe?

Car is running 10psi of boost.

RgVW7.jpg

is that on stock ECU?

10.5:1 is pretty rich, mine ran about 10:1 on stock ECU back in the day

around 12:1 is what you want (in short, its not as simple as 12:1 everywhere, but roughly that)

Its a good result if your running stock ECU, I made 141rwkw on 8psi with the stock ECU, hit R&R real bad on anything above that

Nah running Power FC

The dyno operator didn't sound keen about it being so rich and suggested a tune.....to the tune of $600

How 'un-safe' is it to be running as rich as this? Or is he just trying his charm on me?

Eventually I do want to run around the 12-14psi mark, already got a walbro, but first got to save up for the injectors.

Don't run 12-14psi through the stock RB25 turbo (It's the stock turbo yeah?) or you will blow out the exhaust wheel into the cat. Especially with it coming into summer.

If it is the stock turbo you don't need injectors at this stage.

That AFR on a Power FC definetely needs a tune.

I ran 12psi on stock turbo for over a year without any issues, but I know others that havent been so lucky, I'd stick to 11psi.

Its not un-safe to be running 10.5:1 AFR's, quite the opposite really (unless hes checked a bunch of timing at it)

See where your power starts to drop and notice that its also where your AFR jumps to 10.5:1 This is where you will be losing your peak power unless you have exhaust/intake restrictions or some other kind of issue. How does the plot for your boost look? (If they gave you a power vs boost graph)

If not and you want to know, the dyno run should be stored in there dynos computer and you will be able to go back and get them to print one out (assuming the plotted the boost, which they should have)

luck of the draw on turbo's but it's a timebomb IMO :)

Yep, stupidly rich. I'd almost say too rich, it would want to flood the chambers a bit.

Nice power though!!!

Keen as f**ken mustard to see the results of yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope unfortunately not. Have decided I shall be parting my car out (have allready began selling one or two things). At this point in time the money invested into that car can be better used so it has to be done. Never thought this day would come to be honest lol.

And yes Chris, you can have my title :P

:O

don't do it phil, you'll regret it.

I'll be sad to see it go. But gotta move on. House is the priority at the moment.

Robbo's right Phil you will regret it and you'll never make your money back.

Nah definetely won't make it back. However should get a decent amount back by parting it out. I've calculated what I should roughly get back in the parts that I have put onto it alone and it's a decent amount.

Parting out can make quite a lot back, I've done it before.... Time will tell :)

Phil - Carbon A Pillar + 2x52mm gauge pods able to get em?

The carbon A pillars might get ruined trying to take them off?

    • It only looks tidy, as most of the stuff that was on the whole back wall, is now in the trailer to go to the tip, or has been shoved in my 2.2x2.4m "Spare parts room", and now I can't get to anything in there Ha ha ha I could definitely do with a bit more space, but I'd just end up with your problems I'm going to enclose the car port beside the garage, and move a lot of stuff into it I think. OR... It will be setup as a fabrication area, and the main garage will have parts storage in it. I'm not sure yet... Need some pictures of that big shed you've got with the bikes and Skyline in
    • No. I think it's gone. 😭 I think you can get body coloured ones on eBay so I think I'll get one of those... Or just hang a red ribbon from the hole and whack a TOW sticker next to it.
    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
    • Modern oils are amazing. Add tyres to that as well.
