thanks guys. the work goes on. I've been really busy with the job, but I'm doing what I can to keep this moving. The seat rails came today, and I found out that the bride rails are great, but the mounting tabs provided with the kit won't cut it on the Prodrive seat. I'll have to fab some up in the future, and there were also 4 bolts missing from the kit.. great quality control.

I love that it's a WRC seat. haha

Went out and bought some Air Intakes to replace the ARC box. More compact, and honestly there is no way the ARC box is more effective. I painted them black too. I'll get around to getting a hard pipe kit soon.

how much power are you putting out at the wheels mate? the stock airbox is surprisingly good and the arc box even more so. you wont get any benefit from the pods i rekon. also if you are sticking with the pod, dont get the hks type (the ones you have) they suck (hehe) at filtration. k&n or apexi works best

at 1 bar, no cat, and unknown tune on my "MuKids" ECU I put down 230 KW to the wheels(surprising to me). You are right that these do not filter so well, but the condition of the ARC was very poor. I also didn't like how the main filter was pointed straight up at the hood. K&N will probably be my final choice, as they always have a top notch product. I might have stayed with the stock airbox, however, this car didn't come with it when I bought it. as far as Apexi goes, have a read at this

oh god... "self destruct and find my way into the turbo" air filters. why? this build was so full of win up until that point.

lol, i didn't know people felt so strongly. haha. I won't be keeping them for too long. I just didn't want the ARC box, but maybe now I should reconsider?? I don't really drive the car around anyway as it's in pieces all the time. Also forgot to mention. I ordered a 90mm Kakimoto GT 1OZ exhaust. will be here thursday.

lol i was just about to link you to that comparo. the arc filter pointing up would scream intake hole in the bonnet to me, but you have such a beautiful bonnet i'd hate to damage it and if the box is rooted then fair enough i guess.

I just came across this thread - the car looks amazing! The proportions of the shapes and details are all brilliant as well - the execution certainly lives up to the original idea. It could have ended up looking terrible, but she's obviously got incredible creative talent as well as the patience to follow through with such an exhaustive task.

Reminds me a bit of the BMW Art Cars of the 80s and 90s. I also like how there are various features on the different panels too (like the Skyline word on the boot/trunklid) and not all just one type of detailing.

I LOL! everytime when that article is posted.

SAU shit on about how shit the HKS filters are and yet some of the worlds fastest GTR's in Japan are using HKS filters.

As long as you clean them regularly and check the condition of the sponge filter material, you will be fine.

I clean mine at least twice between every 5000km's intervals.

Once at the start of the service, then clean again when the car has done 2500km's then when due for next service it is cleaned again.

The ARC Air box is similar to air pods, as the sponge filter is exposed, unless there is a cold air intake feeding air to it.

Since you have the twin pods on now, if I were you , I would find the stock R33 GTR air feed (the one that sits on top of the radiator) bolt it in and at least you will have a cold air intake.

I had sponge filters... The previous owner never changed or cleaned them and they basically killed my turbos not long after I bought the car off him, took four years for it to happen! So yeah, I wouldn't be overly worried.

For the record, I now run a stock R32 airbox with a K&N filter and make 300awkW. ;)

okay, well then I will leave them for now, but i need to make fab something to keep the heat away I reckon.

got the Kakimoto Racing GT 1 OZ installed. 90mm titanium piping hooked up to a stainless steel canister. weighs about 7kg!
