Hi all,

It is pretty simple really i have a r32 gtr with 2xhks 3037 and i was wondering what is the best boost controller to use.

Currently running 24psi for street and i don't know what i'll use for the drag yet but it has to hold alot of pressure

Recommendations and comments please guys

So get heavier springs? 10psi is a lot to be bleeding off etc.

I'd be surprised if you are not seeing a bit of gate creep with that.

the reason i want to change to a boost controller is that i am currently running boost control through my haltech and the control dial is just sheeet to set. so i want to know what controller people recommend keeping mind that i two waste gates. the boost was set to 1.7 but when i was working on the car i found a hole in a hot pipe from the rear turbo i have since fix this and now its over boosting to 1.9-2.0 so i have disconnect the haltech boost control and just using the wastegate springs for now to control boost

i'm a big fan of profec b II for good boost control, a lot of ebc's dont seam to give you the option of when to start pulsing the solenoid which is important for stopping gate creep. heavier springs closer to your target boost is always a good idea tho

personally i dont think the profec or blitz are up to the challenge of 2 x 3037 but i totally agree with STATUS, the HKS has no hope.. dont get me started on HKS

seeing as 2 x 3037 isnt exactly backyard hiflow material, dont go cheap on the controller. i believe turbosmart make an EBOOST 2 capable of 60psi? have seen one run an evo with its 15yo 8 psi actuator at 27psi flat to redline. thats saying something.

    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
