They probably let you off after they realised that your car has a similar power to weight ratio as a VZ SV6 Commodore

I actually think he got let off as they felt sorry for him driving a 4 door Skyline... yet alone an R32...

yep, OR...

4-dr = mother-in-law car

mr plod didn't want to open the rear door in case he might open up a m......-...-....

The only person I can think of who I'd be comfortable in a turbo on their P's is that little champ that comes to Texi who's on his L's. I'm not saying he wouldn't take risks on the road, just that he knows how to get out of shit when his car goes sideways.

Requesting a thread lock, I think this has gone on long enough. Long story short, if you're on your P's and driving a turbo, you deserve to get f**ked over by the police. You might think it's unfair, but it's the rules, and as Corinne has said, stats back it up. I got my liner at 22, and it scared the living shit out of me for quite some time.

I'm a 20 year old P Plater, I drive a POS 94 Falcon with 18's and a sound system, and I constantly get stopped by the cops because of all the other morons on P plates that drive around doing burnouts trying to be tough. If it wasn't for all the kids that just got their licence doing stupid shit, I'd be able to drive around in peace.

But I guess trying to be a hero is more important than your wallet and your freedom that a car gives you.

I'm quite content to just putt around in my falcon until I get off my P plates and can buy an R34 GT-T that I can take to a track. There's a time and a place for everything, but racing through a busy town isn't one of them.

Clue up fools, if you want a turbo car, work for it and wait until you can drive it legally, not risk your life and everyone elses just because your mates think you cool.

Is nice to hear a young'in with a brain :)

I was going to buy a turbo car on my p's...

But I didnt, instead I bought a BMW E30 after I got my greens...

Why? Its a stroker, I spent time building the thing and driving it through as many twistie roads as I could...

It could beat stock wrx's and r32 gtst's and one time beat a VE SS ute up a hill..

I guess with a 2.7L stroker with a hot cam, and being 1000kg rwd is of an advantage,

Here are some pics of it, I still miss it even though I sold it afew months ago!

I did alot of stupid shit in it, but never got defected or anything, just the random search the car and warnings if I did something stupid. i guess I was lucky and cops do appreciate a classic...

Anyways point being said is I bought a Manual RWD car and taught myself how to drive manual in it, and learnt how to fix the car and modify it myself, had a whole blog to doing shit to the thing... I only sold it because I am 2 months away from my FULLS and will buy a Turbo car now, after learning how to drive a manual rwd car properly...

So do yourself a favour, buy a light rwd manual car, learn to drive it properly, so then when you do get your rwd turbo, you dont jump from a FWD N/a to something you cant handle...

Hmmm, indeed, this thread has gone long enough.

If you haven't already noticed, no-one thinks you're "cool" if you STILL want to flout the laws (or pretend they don't exist or apply to you) by choosing to drive a turbocharged or otherwise restricted car while you're on your P's.

Why is that so hard to understand?
