hey all,

looking for a track car to have some fun with nothing too serious for around 4 grand.

thinking of a 318i what are some plus and minuses of them?

this is a purpose track car wont be driven on the road at all since we will be striping as much off the car as possible.

so yeah if anyone has any other ideas for around 4 grand send me a pm or just post in here.

cheers.

S13 Sr20det=2.5-3k

T28 BB turbo= 500bux,

Staino mani and dump $250bux,

Rip the interia out, 200bux on a JJR seat,

and go racing......

me and a mate just did it with a Drift car track only.....

heres of vid of the start of the build. its got coilovers now and a JJR seat, most fun ive ever had, just flog the crap out of it, and than put it back in the shed, hahaha

Which 318?

Anything newer than an E36 is definitely out. Too many electronic gizmos that can go wrong but take effort to remove without causing faults with other electronic systems, too much weight, not enough power.

I wouldn't bother with any 3 Series that doesn't have an I6, with the exception of an E30 M3.

its just a very low budget fun track car that we wont to strip down..

would you say we could pick up a decent s13 sr20det for around 6 grand? thats the maximum budget. since we dont really care if its not a fast car just 1 to have some fun with a thrash around a track.

cheers.

we paid 2700bux for our junka, spent around 2k on it now, Turbo, and Coilover and other bits like seat. Buts its mad fun, and heaps better to learn how to work on than messing around with my gtr..... for now anyway haha

yeah deano sounds like you have done pretty well for how much you paid.. yeah once im a bit older (16 at the moment!) ill be doing similar sort of thing that youv done since im only helping my boss find 1 atm lol.

but yeah s13/180sx seems the way to go.
