Astro Bear
Just did the maths and realised the copper spark plugs haven't been changed in my car for about 35,000km. Perhaps this is why my r33 only produces 170rwkw despite having the following mods: SAFC 3" turbo back 12psi 400hp fuel pump front mount I'm going to change the plugs on the weekend. Do you think I will notice any difference when I go for a drive? JonnoHR31
that power level is fairly normal for those mods. plugs would probably be due for a change tho, at ~$20 for a set its worth doing Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/306443-the-copper-plugs-havent-been-changed/#findComment-5065981 Share on other sites
DRD-00F
I would say leave em in there til they fail this is a good example of why those platinum or whatever ones are a waste of money! I agree, power is about right... til you get a full ECU and boost it up to 14 or 15, you won't see much more... Astro Bear
Yes, definitely time for a change. I've been told the throttle reponse will pick up a bit. I always thought 170rwkw was a bit low for these mods? You so often hear of people getting 180-190 with similar mods? 3LGODZILA
every dyno is different, every tuner is different. i made 170 @ 11psi with no safc and 192 @11psi after i got the safc tuned. u probably will pick up a few hp but just dont expect to. r33cruiser
does seem a bit low. I made 256hp so about.....190ish with basically the same mods. DRD-00F
I made 178kw with just an intercooler (boost was untouched but up to 10psi). Then made 192kw after 3 grand in parts (full exhaust, boost controller, PFC, pod etc). So 14kw cost me $3000. woot Power depends on a LOT of things. As long as your happy with its delivery, I wouldn't bother. I still say leave em, it's good to show how long the cheap ones can last. Maybe just give em a clean?
