i just remembered that i have an old motor magazine (or maybe it was wheels) somewhere where they were test driving something like this where the owner had managed to shoehorn a holden v8 into one. can't remember if it was just the 5.0L of the gen3 (it was late 90's or 2000 when the 304 was still in production). either way, i think they said it would light up the tyres in any gear, even at high speeds on a track

wouldn't a GTR AWD drivetrain just weigh the car down? its not exactly the most lightweight AWD system, I'd ahve thought an EVO or Subaru system would be far more effective in a car that light.

With the GTR running gear I can move the front wheels ahead of the engine by lengthening the front drive shaft allowing the motor to sit lower and with better weight distribution. The subaru and evo stuff is built into the box as far as I know.

not sure of the physical size difference between VQ35 and VQ25 but if the VQ25 were smaller then that may be an option. N/A it has the same power and torque as a SR20DET (although peak torque is at higher revs i think) and with a turbo it has the most torque out of any VQ engine (407N-m!).

I think physical size will still be the limiting factor though...
