Need your advice guys.

My car is currently suffering from massive over steer due to KU36s on the front, and a stiff rear sway bar. My question is, do I fix the problem (put Kumho on the rear and upgrade the front swaybar), or should I just hit the skidpan as I am? I figure the wangs will be painful (and possibly dangerous!) but the skidpan could be a lot of fun, and the Supra will be very easy to flick around hats with the current set up.

If it were a track day this would matter but it's DECA and there's only maybe 3-5 people who take it really seriously or are out to win it so don't worry about some oversteer it just means you will have more fun :ermm: If I do get to come along I'll be ditching the hektik wing and putting my crap rims with super crap 215 wan li tyres on. It'll be more fun that way!

Leave it as it is. Just sus out how the car is behaving on the back track, during the 80% run, and use your right foot to control the rear end :)

Pretty sure his car is a daily driver in which case the excessive oversteer might land him in a tricky situation one day...not everyone is a pro driver! You can counter it with some stiffness up front to induce some understeer, but keep in mind that this may only reduce the threshold for oversteer and not necessarily the effects of it once it occurs. The end result can still be some unpredictable snap oversteer which can be a nightmare if you're not on a skidpan. If you're not confident with it I'd be ditching the swaybar for something with slightly more flex.

If you have adjustable suspension, sometimes softening up the rear shocks and stiffening the front can help you out. Other than that, yeah, stick some grippy ass tyres on the rear.

I've getting 275/35/18 KU36s on the rear this Monday. I have my first real track day the weekend after DECA at Sandown with Driver Dynamics so I want it all safe and sorted for then. The oversteer really is shocking though, I'm not talking slight, I'm talking massive! I even have to take roundabouts carefully.

Need to upgrade the brake pads, fluid and replace the front swaybar before Sandown too. Bloody money pit.

Hey I'm going to Sandown that weekend too, so will prob see you there, hopefully you are looking at me through your front window and not your rear window :). I fitted QFM A1RM on the front and their HPX on the rear, plus the TRW 600F fluid so it should hopefully do OK.

Bloody Sandown I wouldn't have had to do all that work unless I was signed up for that, but I'm sure it'll be fun :(

I use the same fluid and the A1RM's all round.

If I can say anything for them it's get them up to temp before you go too deep under brakes. Once they are hot they rock but they aren't much chop cold.

They're also doing a number on my rotors but such is life :(

chewed thru my new rotors in 30,000km. Lot of other people are having same problems with the A1RM's

To be honest after Sandown I may even go back to OEM pads for daily driving, and only fit the A1RM for track or the twisties. 15mins inconvenience to change the pads over as needed is worth it to not have wooden brakes during the working week which is when 90% of my driving is anyway.

Just turn up on the day, surely one person won't make it on the day for one reason or another. The fact you're there gets you straight in.

Otherwise you can sit in my car and give me advice!

Well, I was running some figures last night and I might not be able to afford it anyway.

I'm in the house building phase where they deliver little but take quite a lot lol

At this stage I'm thinking Winton Sprints in early MAy might be more like it =\
