My R34 GTR's indicator control stick is quick sensitive to automatically return to neutral position during a right hand turn in a round about. I think is it quite common on older cars. My problem is I don't know what the mechanism in the steering wheel is called that control the automatical return function of the indicator controller stick.

Can some one help me out, and perhapes let me know how to repair or source the replacment part. cheers.

if you take the steering wheel off you will find there is a plastic "cam" looking piece.. has 2 lumps in it that clicks the indicator off when you turn the wheel back..

getting a replacement part i wouldnt know though..

Hang on...

Are you indicating to the right - in which case, to the turn left onto a roundabout will cancel the right hand indicator?

Some cars return back to neutral quicker than others.

Has this quirk only been happening lately?

It only happens when I turn right, in a roundabout I need to swive the left to enter it then turn right. It clicks out when I do that. I havn't experience the same on the left turn, I'm guessing the situation does not apply as we drive on the left.

yeah its the way the cam thing is designed.. its basically a round plastic ring with 2 bits sticking out to click over the indicator back to neutral.. happens in a few cars i've driven when turning a bit too much..

its a primative design but works in the most part.. so i dont think a new one will help really..
