Hi just wanted to send out a warning about ceva logistics/ceva car carrying company. I had an R34 GTT moved from an importer in Brisbane to a depot in Townsville this week, which i collected this morning.Car was in immaculate condition when it left the importer but upon collection i noticed this freshly touched up mark post-70349-1265361755_thumb.jpg which was clearly marked on my copy of the paperwork as being on the car when they picked it up.

I called the seller to double check but when i asked him what damage was marked on his original copy of the paperwork (mine was just he 3rd carbon copy) there was nothing. I went and spoke to the manager at the Ceva depot and asked what the deal was but they said the damage was already there and wasnt their fault, and denied tampering with the paperwork to cover it up. After i had the original copy faxed to me showing otherwise and arguing for an hour they agreed to fix the damage but still denied it was there fault and said i was scamming them.

Ceva damages cars, does dodgy touch ups and tampers with paperwork to avoid liability. Sorry for the long post just wanted people to know not to deal with Ceva in any way because they cant be trusted.

I dealt with CEVA and prior to the name change TNT. Ive never had a problem with them. Im not saying that your case is not their fault but you really need to be careful about slandering a company.

Sorry to hear about your incident.

Thanks mate, i understand it doesnt happen everytime but i know its not an isolated incident, i also had a commodore, mazda 323 astina and a Honda dirt bike moved with them about 12 months ago, sydney to townsville, they all left at the same time but by car and bike got seperated and 'lost in transit' (the term they used) for 3 days before they were able to locate it for me and tell me where it was, while the mazda arrived on time.my commodore arrived along with 5 stone chips in the windscreen 6 days later and my bike arived with busted fork seals 8 weeks after that. both of which they claimed werent their fault and refused to cover.

Very sorry to hear mate. Welcome to Townsville though :)

When my old man got posted up here back in 2002 his Harley got damaged during transit aswell. The straps holding the bike down got loose and the bike scraped against the side of the truck for god knows how long. The damage was quite severe. Luckily my old man is quite a big guy and very intimadating so after nearly killing the employees when we picked up the bike, they they didn't hesitate in agreeing to pay for all the damages on the bike.

Amazing how often this kind of thing happens, makes you not want to freight vehicles around at all.

Vheers mate,Frightening isnt it,(probably not as much so as your old man but :)) think i maybe seen you today near domayne?

I'm not saying that CEVA is at fault - because the news I read about your case is heresay.

But my point is, I detest it when someone who is at fault, tries to project blame onto the one who isn't.

It's called, "Offense is the best form of defence"

Thats just it mate, i understand accidents happen but there is no need to try and cover it up then change the paperwork then deny everything and blame someone else.Im sure this doesnt happen all the time but i am certain it happens a lot more often than you would think and everyone should be very careful and very thorough bacause theres a lot of dodgy people out there these days.

i think you will find that it is an industry wide thing and not just them. talk to enough people and you will hear stories about every single carrier. my ex had her car transported from mt isa to gympie a few weeks back, not sure who it was though, but her car went missing for about a week.

i work in retail and have for the past 10 years. i've had stuff go missing, wrong stuff turn up (not addressed to me), stuff turn up damaged, etc. from pretty much every company freight company i've dealt with.

Its just not acceptable, i dont mean to sound arrogant but honestly how hard could it be to get it right.

Sorry to hear about the damage mate.

i had a commodore transported from perth the brisbane 2 years ago by adalaide car carriers. car was immaculate prior to transport i had even taken photos at their depot in perth. pick the car up in brisbane and it had pannel damage the fuel tank was half hangin off and the whole exhaust incuding extractors was stuffed. they wouldnt take responsobility so i went to my insurane company n made a claim not even they could put the blame on them so i had to pay the excess $600 wich was better than the 6k in damage the car carrier done.

i imagine that 99% of their customers would be totaly happy with their service other wise they wouldnt be in buisness but in my case and the amount of damage done to my car i cant recomend anything you love being transported by this mob. to happy to take my money but when it came time to explain why my car is f**ked and they wer responsible they didnt wana know me

Thats insane! Mine wasnt bad it was just the principal of it, but yours is crazy. And they make it so hard for you to get it covered by them, with all their money they cant fix up something they damaged themselves. It would be a different story if you damaged one of their trucks with your car.

Im sure %99 of their customers are happy but you have to wonder how many dont check their cars out properly, or get fooled by altered paperwork and touch ups.

have you or anyone you know ever made a mistake at work? has anyone you know ever had an accident on the road where they were at fault (whether it be just a bump in a carpark even just caused by opening the door too far, or being silly on the road and lost it but managed to get away with no damage or minimal damage)? has anyone you know ever dropped a plate or glass at someone elses place?

i don't mean to sound like i'm sticking up for them, but to assume that accidents will never happen is a bit much. sure they should've accepted it was their fault, but i'm sure they've also had their fair share of people try and rip them off in the past too.

the other thing is, did you see the car get put on the transporter at the importers? if not, did you ever think that possibly it was the importer that damaged the car?

Like i said earlier everyone makes mistakes, but what matters is that you take responsibility for them, if they did that i would'nt have a problem at all.I originally thought it was the importer that did it but when he sent me his original copy of the survey report, marked in pen, it had less damage marked on it then my carbon copy, the original had no bumper damage marked yet my copy mysteriously did. Also the photo of the car taken with the truck in the background showed no damage.

The freighting was organised by the seller of the car who had never used CEVA before.I think they were the only company that could move my vehicle on the dates i needed it moved and i didnt know until it was being collected that it was Ceva doing it or i would have copped out and waited. I was worried after last time but didnt expect this fromm them, thought maybe the first time was just an isolated thing, guess not hey.

OMFG first serious reply by RBNT i have evarrrrr seen..

on topic: some vehicle logistics do occasionally scartch your car. they scratched one of the flares on the hilux when i had to get it carted down to melb

I recently sold some of the running gear from my Torana so some bloke in SA, luckily he was the one that organised the shipping.

I had a large pallet with a gearbox and some boxes with the complete fuel system, Microtech, ignition system, B&M shifter and alot of other shit perfectly packed tightly and then covered in cardboard and 100m of industrial pallet wrap. This package would withstand just about anything. It got picked up by his shipping company and about 2 weeks later I get a call saying "hey I thought all this stuff was on a pallet?" I say uuuhh yeah it all was, why?

Turns out they dropped it at the wrong house in the same suburb whom pulled the pallet apart, took what parts they wanted and then called the shipping company to say this stuff wasnt theirs. So this poor bloke gets delivey of my fully built trimatic with NO converter, a Mircotech LT10s with no hand controller or wiring harness and only a few clamps and fittings from a 500hp fuel system. They claim no responsibility.

Good thing I had a photo of the pallet before it was wrapped with all parts, a photo of it wrapped and a photo of it getting loaded onto a truck.

Moral of the story is I'm hungy

Yep.

When my Rustia came from SA to QLD, they couldn't figure out the electric windows.

Did the whole rainy trip with windows down and judging by the soot inside, it must have been beside the exhaust too.

As you have to depress the brake and engage Park to remove the key, that was waaaaaaaaaaaay to hard.

Easier to snap it off. Just like the aerial that spent a week trying to go up and up and up and up........
