hey all, was speaking to a mate of mine who is good friends with a high ranked TMU who warned him that the reason why there has been little police activity on the highway is cos they have just been "watching" and that "very soon" they will be staging a mass crackdown where they will be blocking off sections of the highway and performing roadworthies on all cars.

if i get any other details ill post em up

very thankful i dont drive there! good heads up too... thou i find it funny that things like this leak and we all have the chance to avoid. it happend in lilydale afew months ago. a massive tmu opperation and every new the time place and date it was started... pointless haha. just my 2c.

about time too! f**king p platers draggin up and down! hopefully they have enough power to impound cars on the spot also. i'll be out in my daily 'watching'

sick of going out to a nice dinner, and get a bunch of young teen idiots cutting everyone off and draggin every set of lights!, if i had a ford bronco, they would think twice before cutting infront of me!

With booze/drug buses I was advised by a friend who is in the force (constable), that they do not find out where each bus is situated until on the night when they are assigned to one. This minimises leaks of this information prior to deployment.

I thought the same would be the case with the TMU, or is it the case that the bottom of the food chain does not get to know in advance but the commanding officers do?

Other than that, a blitz on Princes is probably about due, I'm sick of people trying to drag me off at the lights especially when my car is pretty stock looking from the outside and I don't drive with my windows open and stereo pumping! The stupid thing is that if a cop witnessed the event, even if I took off from the lights normally but the other guy tore off like a rocket we would probably both get done for "drag racing" :(

yeh really useless..

these comments usually come from those who havent been defected.....

This is normal - happens every 6-12 months mate.

Been happening for years.

Soon as there is a massive presence around, 2-4 weeks late a major operation/crackdown gets launched over a 2 weekend period :(

Yer same shit... Just avoid both, they are a waste of time!!

lol. No i havent been defected. and im fairly confident i wouldnt be even if i did drive though a tmu station. though why take the risk? im certain that the vt commo infront with parts missing, brake light out ect ect would get wave though with out even a head turn rather than my immac perfectly road legal skyline being turned inside out.

lol @ warning thread. this happens on a regular cycle... police lay low on the defects for a while to concentrate on other areas like drink driving, speeding, highways etc. P platers think "omg uleh we own the streets, we showed them cops aye"... then they change focus again. P platers get defected, we get about 20 threads going "omg uleh i got defected bro" having a cry, we tell them to harden the fuck up, and life goes on.

so lets just cut to the point....

harden the fuck up

</end thread>

hahum**** DUMB p platers.... not all try to take on the long dick of the law. i drive a turbo car on my ps though not like a dick and in areas/ times where more than needed attention is generated.

well theres no point to do up your car if your scared that u gonna get defected. All im scared of is losing my license. Nothing wrong cruisng on princes hwy on the speed limit.

Wonder if they are gonna crack down on that stupid facebook group posted up for the "dandy drags"

I heard about that. That could be it! Its the crackdown.. lol

No go for me. I hate going to stuff like that. Worse then cruising on prinny if u get done.

some people seem to misunderstand this thread. i posted it so that we dont have 20 people posting threads cracking the shits about being defected during this operation.

its only fair if one of us finds out that one of these events is around the corner then the info should be posted to save a lot of people the trouble. not necessarily from defects, but just the bother of being pulled over and having your car checked and sometimes being treated like a dirtbag.

im actually looking forward to this crackdown happening, so that hopefully they remove all those sick kent wanks that rip burnouts at the lights and fly past me at 150km+ and run reds.

    • I believe mine is helical and not clutch type. During drifting one wheel was spining as if it was open diff so bought kazz 1.5 way and has sat on my shelf for the past 5 years as I want to learn shiming process and do it myself   in meantime thought I change the diff oil hence post here. So any 75-90?   i am pretty sure r34 are helical not clutch lsd as standard . That is gtt ones
    • Throw between gears are so much that is getting annoying. I have pro short shifter on my mx5 and e36 and love it . Skyline is getting unbearable    would syncro issues and short shifter is no no? Anyone mind explaining a little on why before i buy cube
    • No. Well, some people "seem to use redline shockproof in the diff". Most do not. I would only contemplate it if you have badly worn CW&P gears. And no. No-one in their right mind has ever put ATF into a diff. Any normal diff/gear oil of the right viscosity will do. Whatever takes your fancy. Castrol, Nulon, Penrite, Redline MT range. Whatever. It's just gears. 75W-90 or 80W-90 is typical. I think that GL-5 is hard to avoid these days, although I think that a GL-4 is probably preferred, given the vintage of the equipment. At least Redline offer a number of GL-4 oils. If you have a clutch type LSD instead of the VLSD, then of course you need a proper LSD oil. Anything from any of the same names above. If you have a helical LSD, then it does not require LSD oil, and the recco is the same as for the VLSD. You don't want the LSD friction modifiers in the oil for a non-clutch type LSD if you can avoid it.
    • You may want to list it up for a little higher - This price is much lower than you may realize. Here you're pretty much selling to people who most likely already have these things on their own rigs. S chassis people eat this stuff up like you'd not believe.
    • I had my car for over 10 years and done around few thousand miles but never changed the oil. thinking of changing it.   what brand and viscocity would you put in ? people seem to use redline shockproof in the diff   on  contraty seen others using atf dexron 2 or 3 so wanted to check. is it 1 liter?
