Ok Ive been looking at getting my car the big dyno tune my sochi in NZ at st hitech...hes a good tuner and well known, so he should be able to give me a good tune,

So iv got so far in my s2 rb25det

FMIC,

3" straight through exhaust,

Some cheap unknown fuel pressure reg.

external wastegate,

and a dsr430 turbo with standard manifold,

Greddy profec b spec 2

And the following i havent put in yet

my power fc, hi flowed 650cc injectors, z32afm

And i was wondering wether to go with a bosch fuel pump or a nismo one i know a mate whos selling that came off a gtr running two of them with 650 atw...aparently there better then walbro and bosch but i dont know...? so was thinking go for the bosch.

But onto the main point! i was wondering if a should get any adjustable cams...iv seen on the net that people get some good gains out of them....iv seen tomei cams suggested as a good upgrade but they are quite expensive but are good quality, but what about cheap no name cams? like http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-270396498.htm or are they a big no no? theres plenty of them around

And what sort of power can i get out of new cams with this kind of set up? is it even worth it?

Thanks guys really appreciate it!

for the fuel pump I would strongly advise you go with a ECR33 nismo one. don't use a GTR nismo one. get the one to suit your car. otherwise it's a waste having a 'bolt on' pump that wont fit your car without modification. the fuel pump is the heart of your car. it pumps the life blood around. without a good one you're doomed. spend the money and buy a NEW nismo pump.

are you talking about cam gears or cams? you keep saying cams but I think you mean cam gears. I would stay away from the cheap ones. they are well known to slip. the best ones are Trust or Tomei. they both have 5 bolts holding them in position. The other option that is very good (if done properly) is a standard cam gear modified to be adjustable. Lots of places do this now and some are really good and still quite cheap.

Yea i was meaning adjustable cam gears sorry!

Is somthing like http://www.nengun.com/tomei/adjustable-cam-pulley any good? would i get any good gains out of having adjustable cam gears? or are they a waste of time without cams to go with it?

Oh and doesnt vct need a controller because installing new cam gears disable it?

thankyou

What are the benefits of having a cam gear? im thinking of getting one, if so i wouldn't need the VTC side? just the exhaust side yeh?

Geraus dont waste your money, for your setup their is not enough benefit.

Don't just tease us with results of more low end/ midrange torque... what did you set it at? and what turbo do you have? was it laggy to begin with and now you've made it more bearable or was it good before and now great? I know it is fairly dependent on the full set up and what works for one engine won't necessarily work for another but the more info available on each persons setup and results the more we all learn.

Cheers

r these any good from access, have you used them?

I'm running a gt3076r. The car got all mods done including cam gear but saw the graphs of before and after. It does make a noticable difference. Can't tell you kw differences as I don't have the sheet infront of me but it was worth the money.
