I just put a 2nd hand rb25det and gbox in my 33. Power worked everything was fine and then i pressed the immobilizer went to start it and it kicked over for a second and power died instantly.

At first i though it was the immobilizer but it isn't. Checked all fuses, connections etc... and i am now majorly stumped.....

All help will be greatly appreciated.

just basics.... air/fuel/spark...

most commonly on here people accidently put the fuel hoses on back to front, they have to be on the right way or it wont run...... make sure the hose coming from the fuel filter DOES NOT go onto the fuel rail end with the fuel pressure reg.... or if ur not, sure, swap them to see if it starts.

okie dokie

after much double and triple checking and some aggravation it was a busted fuse.......

however now that we have power the starter motor isn't quite kicking it over. Pulled it of the gbox and it worked fine whacked it back on and it doesn't even sound like it is cranking properly. More of a grinding noise as if it isn't turning the flywheel.

thinking drive train?

Well i pulled the gbox of had a gander everything appeared to be fine and then whacked it back on and lo and behold it still don't work. Same grinding noise. I checked the fork lever and noticed there is little play when all is connected but plenty when the gbox is off? this standard for 33's?

Also apart from the grinding noise once you release the key back to on power quits for a second or something and start up procedure starts all over again..........dash light's, fuel pump whirring, abs etc.........

Also i checked and re-checked fuel etc....and that is definitely going the right way.

stumped again....... *scratching head*

check that the starter motor is aligned properly. measure the distance from the mounting points to the flywheel and see if it isnt over/under shooting it.

you may need to space it out. do you have the backing plate in?

Ok so i had another look at the starter motor and measured and noticed that it under shoots the flywheel? i pulled it apart and tried to see if i can put some spacers in but doesn't look like much room.

I'm thinking is has shit itself as the shaft in the middle and the kicker on it has heaps of play and slides up but falls back down so it doesn't appear to be anyway for it to hold itself in line with the flywheel, or am i missing something?

*another head scratching moment*

all help is muchly appreciated.....
