Why would a factory boost gauge stop responding.

And second why would an aftermarket boost gauge stop responding

And third why would they both stop responding at the same time.

Anyone?

Seems to be the latest dilemma with Mikes skyline. (13 devil)

I would like to know if anyone can tell me where the factory gauge gets its reading from. I am assuming that the vacuum line has decided it doesnt like its current job

but if that were the case would the car run normally (13 devil, please confirm if the car is running normally)

any help peeps

RiaZ

hey riaz,

yeah the car runs fine, still boost and still drives 100% it is very wired.

Story goes like this

I just was about 5second away from my house i turn onto some long straight road, i shift into 2nd and gave it some juice (was going about 60 or so k's) i was looking at the boost gauge it hit.5bar then it just drop down 2 zero ( i didnt shift down or take my foot of the gas) i then gave it some more in 3rd 2 see if it still boost and it did.

then i look at the factory gauge and it was just at zero 2.

very very wired :S

thanks Ken,

I only had this car for like a month, and I installed the boost gauge, i didnt use any clamps for it in the engine bay so it might have popped off.

I havent touched much around the car at all. accept for the aesthetics, cos the rest was too much work to go through everything and make sure it was all there.

I got the car from a dealer so you gotta assume a certain amount of stuff has been covered.

But the gauge popping off is my fault. Sorry Mike. if thats what it is.
