i have read through the diy section about the high boost mode with the standard solanoid, it says if you have a boost control to stop reading. i have a duel stage boost control (hi low) i have set high to 11psi and low is set to factory does that mean it is still running 5psi untill it get to 4500rpm then 7-8psi after that? or since i have added a boost controler it just runs the 7-8psi all the time??

its a turbosmart high low boost control!

If you have a boost setting of 8psi then that is your maximum boost [excepting spikes and other stuff]. Your turbo will start to boost at pretend 3500 and will be at lets say 4 psi at 4500 and will top out at 8psi at say 6000. You can rev to 7500-8000 but you won't make any more boost, it will max out at 8psi. I'd leave your boost on hi setting all the time except in the wet, then I'd use the low boost setting so that you don't wheel spin when/if it comes on hard. The low setting will have a softer power curve. But otherwise leave it on high, you don't save anything by having it on low, you only spend fuel etc when your boosting, and you don't do that all the time.....think about it. And like Nismoid says, stop reading the DIY on the standard boost solenoid, it is irrelevant to your vehicle.

wouldn't i use more fuel in high boost then low boost? i uses low boost most of the time to save a lil fuel! or doesn't it matter being in high or low boost with fuel usage?

im thinken about changen the boost control to a different duel stage, one that i can hav a low setting lets say 8psi and high 11psi

cheers

i would say it'd still chew the fuel reguardless of the amount of boost ur running, either way you're put is still down. if you want to save fuel just dont drive it hard. no point spending extra money on a dual stage boost controller if all you want it for is fuel economy on the lower boost setting.. my 0.02c neways

bah just set it to 11psi daily!

SIF turn it down for the wet, that is what the right foot is for - control :)

Yeah and then you have a puck clutch, stopped at an uphill set of lights and the car behind you is highway patrol and did I mention it was wet..............hahaha :domokun:

I didn't manage to explain myself out of that one, the only thing that stopped the grunt from going over my whole car was the rain!!!
