You can get blown 540's without a worry and make a lazy 1000hp :)

But yes, engineers in Vic have not been signing off on large V8's into light cars for a number of years, hardly surprising.

I'll see your 540 and raise you another 32 cubic inches :)

That's 9.4 litres in newspeak. And in blown / chassis twisting form:

But that's just crate engines...custom and stroked out garner nearly limitless possibilities. The worlds fastest street legal vehicle was at some point a Calibra fitted with IIRC a 10.5 litre Chev big block V8.

Same bloke just wow'ed 'em at summernats with his latest creation based on the same sized engine, but this one is from a tank

(the chev had a P51 Mustang aeroplane engine in it, and when you consider that aeroplane engines run in the opposite direction to every other internal combustion engine, it makes the engineering of that thing all the more impressive IMO)

BTW - 1650ci? thats 27 litres in the new speak kiddies :P

Although my personal favourite "monster" engine is actually a 4cyl...

Built for the 1912 Benz 82/200 it had a displacemnt of 21.5 litres!!! That is 5.375 litres PER CYLINDER!!! :P
