Hi Guys.

I've got a S2 Stagea with 88,XXXkms.

It's had a rebuilt and flowed R33 T25 put on, running a fmic and full 3" turbo back exhaust.

Pretty standard stuff.

Looking at replacing the cams and gears.

I've been recommended about 272 degree with about 8.5mm lift.

I've been quoted about $1100 to have them made to whatever specs I want so I wanna get it right.

I'm not looking for anything too agressive.

I'm looking for an earlier spool and better response.

Anybody out there that could help me out before I go blowing my $$$.

PM me or post a reply.

Cheers

Jason.

If you'r running pretty standard stuff then there is no real reason to change your cams. However if you fill the need i would advice at getting cams which allow you to still run VCT. If i remember correctly only 2 brands offer this (HKS and tomei).

Also 272 is too big, if anything i would advice a 256. off the shelft j-spec cams will cost you around the same price so i would advice going with something that is try and tested

The fact someone reccomended those cams is also a bit of a worry.

If they are suggesting 272's i would highly be questioing their skyline knowledge as you do NOT want to lose VCT for a street car.

stock ftw, lots of RBs doing big performance on stock cams.

get an exhaust cam gear and dial it in 3-4 degrees retarded, as stipulated in many threads u will find.

+1 for management and fuel pump, very very important
