Amount Of Engine Oil You Guys Put In Your M35

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to ask how much oil in liters do you all put in your M35's. There's one serious problem that I have noticed with our cars is that the dipstick is absolutely useless. You cant really read it accurately. Initially I thought it was only my car but I've serviced a number of M35's with the same problem. Yes I shouldve measured the oil coming out but I never do.

I usually put just under 5LT's in....run the engine for a while and top it up the next day if needed. The dipstick is useless for me as well....let it settle overnight and it should give you a reading though.

Thanks buddy, never thought about leaving the oil to settle overnight and check the dipstick but i'll certainly give it a go!

I believe the official number is 4.7 liters

I just put 5 liters in to account for the little bit that leaks out of the rocker. Nice and easy, the whole bottle. Usually just over the fill line once the filter is full.

Yep, +1 for 5L.

Just means you are very slightly over filling.... may account for the the amount that fills up in the dipstick once you turn the engine over.

The dipstick is very readable if you check it first thing in the morning before starting the car.... as Craig said.

yeh the stageas are around 4.7 to 4.8L (I thought 4.8)

in my rb26 Ive added an oil cooler kit with 2m of braided lines to external oil filter

will be using Seven litres lol (track work car)

in the stagea c34 I use 5L for the road or 5.5L if heading to the track

i put in about the same into my neo, guess the 4wd box takes a bit

also have to say go the nulon fully synthetic 10w40, seems to be running really well

I am not sure how much my Subaru Outback takes but who gives a shit as it is not a VQ25DET.

Really!!!

In our old R31 we use about 8.2lts....with the enlarged and baffled sump + the 2 large oil coolers it needs it. Oh and my wifes U13 Bluebird use's about 4.3lts......Dad's Touareg uses about 6.5lts....and. mums prelude....welll thats a tricky one because it's auto and I think from memory the motor bleeds into the GB......My sister has a WRX and they use about 4lts.......brother in law has a falcon....think they are about 5.5lts.

Oh thats right we were talking about an M35's.....or was I missing something! Did I read the title right?

Iain, we are talking about oil in the engine not fuel in the tank.........

sorry i should specify its a 16:1 fuel to oil ratio
