Hi every one. This is my result today with a HyperGears ATR43G4 600HP turbo externally gated on a stock RB25det.

Its got a .82 turbine housing running a .70 Comp cover with anti surge slots. Turbo's not brand new I've been told it came off LOWRB's KKR high flow setup, now running a Hypergear's .82 ATR43 turbine housing with RB25's OEM bolt on dump pattern.

Modifications needed for installing:

It needed 1x 20mms spacers to space out the comp housing from manifold.

The inner water line had to be bend as turbine housing was in the way.

Turbo's got a 4inch mouth, which I relocated the Z32 AFM between cooler piping and bolted on a 4inch 45 degrees elbow pipe to a Pod filter.

My car's a 94 model R33 S1. Its got:

850cc high flowed injectors from Created

Ebay cooler kit

Tomei 260 Duration by 8.5mm lift Cams

3inch exhaust with metal cat.

Tail 38mm external gate vented to atmosphere (drilled on top of stock manifold)

Z32 AFM

Z32 ECU with nistune chip and modified loom

This car has previously tuned on HyperGear's high flowed turbo at 240rwkws.

Now. 301rwkws / 403rwhp on 18psi full boost at 4500RPM . Car’s feels very strong on road and goes crazy after 4500RPM .

Turbo, installation, and dyno tune costed me a total of $1000. Big Thanks to Nick at Phase autos and Stao from Hypergear.

tomei cams might help it come on earlier? plus the better turbine housing not kkr crap lol.

what exhaust manifold are u using kwikr33?

my bad just read tial gate on top of stock manifold

That's always a hot debate item :)

I had my GT3040 (600hp) .82 rear, making 17/18psi by 4200rpm (280rwkw) factory cams. That was with a rather restrictive 3" exhaust... so might have been sooner & more power but i'll never know that stories end!

So it's always subjective about cams in a lot of cases. IMO you don't need them... i certainly didn't. Nor did guilt-toy on his setup (a larger GT35).

I know he was going to test some cams i think for the sake of it, not sure what eventuated there though...

I did some comparison on the dynosheet page. It appears that RB25det with cams has better response then the people who doesn't.

Today's tune is not bad, but its still got abit of miss up the top not sure if the stock coil packs are getting old.

But yea external gate and cams would make a difference to boost and power curve.

You sure? I thought all the part numbers for the Procams were for RB20/RB25/RB26 which would mean no VCT and that the Poncams which are only listed as RB25 ones with NVCS were the only ones that supported VCT.

Nice work! Its hard to see how laggy it is as the axis is in road speed not rpm. But it sure looks to sit at 300rwkw for a long time!!!

So you mean the turbo purchase, the installation of the turbo and the tuning was $1000?? Or excluding the purchase of the turbo?

Mmm you might be right actually... :D

either way good result!

Its currently running a RB25de cam gear with out the VCT. The $1000 was including the turbo, installation, all the bits for it and dyno time. I don't think Stao would offer some thing like that unless he wants some one to guinea cop his new turbos :( . After a set of spark plugs she's running pretty smooth. I'm considering to rise 3 more psi and see what she gets. Stao will you pay for my dyno time :) ?

Nick believe KM/H is more accountable. I had a look through the dynosheet section and it seems KMH/RPM scale varies from dyno to dyno.

I'm taking a average sacle of:

1KM = 39RPM. So you can work it out:

65 : 2535

85 : 3315

105 : 4095

125 : 4875

145 : 5655

165 : 6435

175 : 6825

His dyno's analyzer is broken. it can only show Power , speed and torque at this stage. Probably can get the car to run on another dyno once its tuned.

kwickr33: Let me know when you want to run on more boost. I can cover your dyno time thats not a problem.

id say hes too lazy to calibrate the rpm :) jks
