I have looked at lots of different options for a brake upgrade and would like to know if these http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...sc-t303758.html will fit and what you guys think of the price?

I was looking at the K-Sport option but they seem too cheap for what they are. But then again anything with Brembo commands a real premium (350z kit) and I would really like them to fit behind my standard 17's as I have no plans to change wheels unless I can get a set of R35 rims. (I'm worse than a woman looking at shoes when it comes to wheels  )

What brake upgrade are other NM35 owners using? I know R32 GTR's are being used (had them on my 180sx) and are a very cost effective option. So I would assume you could even use S15 brakes as these are 4 pot's also?

Has anyone upgraded their rear brakes? Has anyone felt the need to?

I just want to know all the options as brakes are the first thing I like to modify and getting a straight answer from suppliers is not going well.

Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Andrew.

Yeh, im getting the 32 gtr calipers kitted at the moment, bolt spacing is the same. They just use an M14 instead of the NM's M12 I would say there are many models that will fit with a bit of persuasion. Easiest would be the 350z fronts, straight bolt up, same lines can be used.

I think the brembos are terrible for the price.

personally I run the g4/d2/ksport etc 330m rotors and they are absolutely unbeatable for the price....I have them on the race car, the stagea and the 350z....

Hi Duncan,

Did you need any modifications (brake lines, bolts etc) to fit the Ksports? The 6 pot fronts look like such good value but I'm unsure of quality as I don't know anyone using them. But as all the replacement parts are easily obtainable and brand interchangeable it really appeals.

Do you have them fitted behind 17's or 18's. I would prefer not to upgrade wheels yet, but if I have too

Thanks for the reply.

I've got 330mm under 17s. very tight fit but it depends on the wheel design as to how close it will be.

once you add up brand new pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines, the chinese kits are outstanding value. and they don't just look serious, they are...I ran 330mm g4s at targa tasmania on my gtr without any problems.

sorry, yes it was straight bolt on (32 gtr kit on a c34 stagea). for m35 I would suggest the 350z kit because the offset will be better for m series (but I guess either will work)

That wouldn't happen to be a set of K sport/G4 brakes exploding in your display pic would it? :P Nar, I've always wondered how those brakes went. Kinda figured they wouldn't be too bad considering they're brakes and would have to meet a certain criteria in quality. I've heard mixed reports about the coilovers though.

Yes the nm35 in stock form is poor on the brakes. I replaced my rotors on the front only with slotted DBA rotors. It made i big difference to the cars braking ability.

My nm35 will never see the track. So this was a simple and cost effective exercise. Aprox $200-300 mark.

Use the rest of your budget on go fast things

RS73 on SAU does group buys on DBA rotors at a great price.

But I would not recomend only doing rotors and pads if you are chasing more performance.

Even with better pads after a few hard stops the standard brakes start to fade.

The slotted rotors will assist in keeping the rotor cooler but that is is.

Cheers

I dont seem to see these floating around much on the net anymore.... who still sells them... if anyone really, I think justjap sells the G4's?

yeah I haven't seen either g4 or d2 brands for a while....ksport is around the place instead. No idea why they bother rebranding them when they are all exactly the same except colour!
