Home Made Oil Cooler Setup

hey guys. i am halfway thru swapping turbos over. just wondering bout making a home made oil cooler setup. wud it work by taking the oil from oil sender. running it thru a small cooler and run the return into my turbo oil drain pipe. wud this work? safe idea?

why wouldnt you run it like a oil cooler is suppose to be ran, from the filter

buy a kit.

what you have described is bypassing pressurised oil back into the sump instead of where the pressure needs to go.

You do realise the stock 25DET has a liquid:liquid oil cooler installed from factory?

IMO no real value replacing it with a liquid:air unit unless for severe duty use (eg circuit work).

For street running and drags you generally won't load the oil with enough heat to warrant changing what the factory did.

running a cooler like that will do exacly NOTHING.
