2 methods .

Most people take the front prop shaft off, the other which I want to try is disconnecting the air evac plug in the right lower kick panel, turn the car on then depressing the brake pedal 5-10times. I am yet to try this method seems pretty straight forward .

I was of the opinion you can't use the fluid removal/fuse method due to the r34 transfer case having a 'pre-load' meaning the clutches are always slightly engaged, and doing this especially on a dyno where the front wheels are stationary and the back wheels are spinning will cause clutches in the transfer case to wear out pretty quickly..? Is this correct?

It doesnt work through a special transfer case. I run a R32 transmission and it still has a little forward bias. I am pretty sure the ETS pump has a check valve to leave residual pressure in the line when the pump is off. This is said to help the pump to react faster when the AWD is activated.
