ok, there is a HUGE cruis being held at the end of march, being organised by WPR (Wolf Pack Racing tongue.gif ), and it extends too all areas, but the cruise will be from Taree to Newcastle.... but that doesnt mean that u cant just show up at Newcastle and hang out, and check out the cars smile.gif i just copied n pasted this from the WPR facebook even description (i was the one who wrote it, but i didnt wanna re-write it).

Ok guys, march 28th at the Taree Service Centre on the highway (maccas/BP etc) at 9am.

we will wait her for late comers till 9:30am, and have a chat between ourselves.. it will be out the back in the truck stop part of the car park, cos its the largest area and we are expecting alot of people...

9:30am we hit the highway heading for Newcastle. the destination is DIXON PARK IN NEWY.... this beach has a LARGE car park to accomodate all our vehicles, and they have a kiosk thingy with hot chips etc etc. although they are slightly overpriced, being a beach kiosk, so dont be opffended at the prices. lol.

from here we will hang out for a while, till maybe 1 or 2pm, a bit after lunch. u can all go for a swing, or hang out and chat, whatever best suits. then we will be cruising through too newy foreshore carpark, cos thats how we roll.... plus it will be good too show off our large collection of cars too the boys n girls down newy way.

after this, we will be heading home. now i know a reasonably sized group of us will all be heading back to taree/forster/port/coffs harbour together, so it will be like another cruise on the way home, so keep us all in the loop when your leaving if u wanna have another large group escort you home, lol.

SYDNEY/CENTRAL COAST CRUISERS!!! if mark or myself (Tyrone) get a couple of people interested, i will also organise a group meet down there so u can meet up with us at newy, although if there is only a few interested, i sugest you make your way to Newy yourselves, and meet up with us at Dixon Park .... its on Memorial Drive in NEWY

UPDATE!!!!!!!!! FOR SYDNEY/CENTRAL COAST MEMBERS!!!

-All Sydney member wanting too meet up and cruise together will be meeting at THORNLEIGH MACCAS at 9:00.... you will be leaving by 9:20, so try and be on time otherwise u will miss the people heading up. my mate statik will either be in a lexus, or a pimpin lil charade i daresay, and will be at this meet point. so keep your eyes open.

-meet at Wyong north bound Twin Service station at 10:15 out the back in the truck car park.... everyone will be leaving here at 10:45, so dont be late. James will be here in a maroon R31 skyline, and Raquel should be there in a white 300zx too.

- from here, you will cruise up the highway and meet at the HEXHAM MACCAS. this should take 45 mins, so u will be there around 11:30. and the main group from Taree will be cruising past around midday. i will give my mate Statik a call about 5 mins before the main group gets to hexham. at this point, you should all be ready to leave. i will then give him a call once we hit the hexham bridge, so u can get to the traffic lights, and follow us along to DIXON PARK. we wont be hard to miss smile.gif

You will need...

a full tank of petrol

drinks for on the way

sunscreen cos its a beach and will be hot)

2 way radio's (if you choose) for a bit of fun... these are not essential

a positive fun attitude and respect for all drivers

we are out to have fun and appreciate our cars guys. i know people coming from places like sydney, newy, taree, forster, port, armidale, tamworth, coffs harbour, scotts head, and even QLD (yes Danny, you) for this cruise. it should be massive, and in saying this, please have some repect for all drivers on the road. come have fun, and show off your cars and meet some new peeps.

On the day, if u think you need a mobile number too keep in contact with myself or Mark, look for the White Nissan Exa. i will give my number out upon request if you think you need it if your gonna get lost or left nehind, although we wont be going at an excessive pace, so everyone should be right to go smile.gif

any questions, shoot them below, and we will answer as soon as possible. everyone is welcome, no matter what u drive, so bring your mates, and your mates mates, cos i guarantee this is gonna be the biggest cruise Taree has seen in a long time.

last cruise was somethin like 46 cars, lets double it guys!!! Also HPI (High Performance Imports - Magazine) have been sent a personal invitation to attend this event.

compak attack is on the same day

yeah...it would be really dumb to spend 1/2 the day on the highway going to Newcastle and back when all the good action is at your doorstep at Sydney Dragway.

another really dumb thing is to meet at Dixon Park...the police/DECC will be waiting for you there.

    • Dissimilar metal corrosion. Aluminium is less noble than steel/iron, and will corrode preferentially when in contact with it and a conductive solution (ie, wet road salt). Tends to suggest that those brackets should be made in steel for a shitty climate like the UK.
    • Here is picture of the rear brackets again seeming to have eating itself or corrode or whatever. Can’t describe it , hope someone could explain this
    • No i am in the uk so maybe road salt etc but checked rear and same story where handbrake cable seems to have eaten part of the bracket. Have emailed alpha omega waiting for reply
    • I've not looked at a GTR without the booster there. Is the hole and mount on the firewall not just the same as GTSt? I would have expected it to be. Nissan don't change panel stampings if they don't have to, and you'd think they'd just order/design the booster to mount to the same place.
    • They have all sorts of "failure" modes. When they are brand new, the can either be very very tight, or reasonably mobile. If they are reasonably mobile, you'll probably have a good start. If they are very tight, then they can catch/grab at every little motion, and they mark the ball or the outer race, tearing off whatever teflon lining is in the outer race, then they can rapidly degenerate from there. If they get wet, they can just rust. They are just steel and will turn red pretty quickly. Water can get in behind them and sit and cause them to become crunchy and then proceed to tear themselves up, as above. Same with grit and dirt. Manufacturers and OEMs of the arms that use them will tell you that because they are teflon lined (well, the good ones, anyway), you shouldn't grease them. If you do grease them, then the grease will catch any passing grit and dirt and hold it in place where it can cause damage. Race teams that have them will lubricate them thoroughly. They will also inspect them every 5 minutes and replace them every 10 minutes, if need be. Some manufacturers of arms will provide dust boots. These can help, but they are seldom perfect, and sometime just make the situation worse, being a place where crap can collect. I have made nappies for some of mine with PVC sheet and race tape, to try to minimise the access of crap. When they wear, you can get a tiny tiny amount of movement between the ball and the outer race. This will make clicking noises. It will also make the arm have "slop" in that the tiny amount of movement available at the inner end of an arm can cause a lot of movement out at the outer end. 0.05mm at 5mm from the pivot becomes 4mm 400mm away from the pivot. If they are too tight and binding, they impede the proper motion of the suspension arm and put loads into it and the rest of the suspension that are not supposed to be there, and can cause failure. Think broken welds, broken threaded sections on the adjustable parts, mounts ripped off the chassis, etc. All of these are possible, which is the main reason why they are essentially illegal on the road in Australia.
