Curse the govt for making the police another tax agent, ppl would have far less issues with police if it werent for traffic offences.

It was good to see this guy get a result with his Torana, but lets not kid oursleves, what he did could have easily escalated out of control.

Again good luck to him, he got his car/parts back, but personally i would have contacted the police with my information. Its questionable he would have got all the car parts back, but the average crook will save his own neck, and seeing to parts being returned will aid this.

If the police were allowed to handle this then the guy would be in front of a court being sentenced, so he's not out next weekend stealing someone elses car, and would now have form for it, meaning that in the future if another theft could be pinned on him, it wouldnt be recognised as his first offence, so courts are more inclined to do something.

Not saying police are perfect, or that this guy did the wrong thing, my hat goes off to him he got his car back, but lets not go bashing the police as being incompetent. Sledge Carr for funding cutbacks, and having police resources tied up doing the work of the ATO & RTA.

i have to agree thats cops aint the best detectives. my mate came back from a HUGE night out and noticed he had parked in a timed no standing zone, still off his nut he moved it around the corner! woke up feeling sore in the morning and noticed his car wasn't were he parked it! called the cops reported it stolen, they came out and saw him! 2 days later (we were in melb at the time) his mate called and had found it around the corner! so much for investigating the crime scene :D
