He's not really near Alexandria, but I can recommend Mark out at MRC Performance at Castle Hill. Fair prices, no B.S, generally nice guy. He built/services my mates 180, it's pretty neat/tough & he is pretty fussy with who touches his car.

I just re-entered the world of Skyline ownership myself, and Mark will be looking after it too.

His site is:

http://www.mrcdyno.com.au/

search function is there to be used.

Topic covered 11ty times.

also, if you want a cheap place, you'll end up spending more as thats what it is...cheap!

unigroup in Toongabbie/7 hills is where Id take it

If i wanted a mechanic 3 hours drive i would have used the search tool. I specifically put Alexandria because i wanted some places around Alexandria. But thanks for your recommendation, ill give em a call.

theres nothing really near alexandria whos got a name for skylines so you'll have to travel if you want it done by someone who isn't learning on your car.

I recomend both Envy and Unigroup, envy is my choice if i had to choose, and nowhere in sydney is 3 hours drive away from anywhere in sydney even in peak hour lol. Took my car to unigroup and he doesn't try and sell you everything under the sun when you service with him, he gives his advice and his 2cents worth, but he doesnt pressure you if its not something that doesn't have to be done if you understand what i'm trying to say??? Basically he doesn't try to upsell you and change things "incase" they were to break in the future unless there is reason behind it.

Tunehouse in Marrickville is pretty close to you. Thats where i take my car and i highly recommend them, they definitely wont be "learning" on your car. High Performance Imports gave them "best dyno cell/workshop in australia" in their 2009 yearbook. You can be the judge.

9557-4000 or http://www.tunehouse.com.au/

actually i'm wrong, i forgot about tunehouse, they the only place within like 15km or more radius of you that is decent, but from what ive heard there are just as many positive feedback as there are negative feedback,

Brookvale and unigroup tend to have only positive feedback and ive never heard anything negative about either at all...

    • Hey guys I have a 2001 Nissan stagea vq25det, I don't have any engine lights and not really any issues running but I was curious to see if I could use my obd II scanner to find anything that was hidden and I plugged my scanner in and it just said "Low voltage cannot scan" does anyone know how to fix this or what this could be?
    • Sadly we have something in common, our Skyline's like blowing up electrically 馃槩
    • So, no videos, but, the FAB9 Elite manifold and 68mm Bosch throttle bodies are in stock, but, not the rear part of the air box The FAB9 rear airbox thingie is made with a 3" intake pipe, to suit the 3" intake pipe size of a 68mm throttle body  When they get some more in stock is currently unknown as I'm waiting for FAB9 to reply with a ETA on resupply, my assumption is they outsource their plastic printing stuff to "china", and with the current "tariff war" going on in 'Merica it could be on hold for an undisclosed time Should I pull the pin on the Intake and throttle body, and wait for the airbox?????, that's what I'm thinking... 1. Would the standard 2.75" OEM intake on the air box really be that much of a restriction compared to the 3" naturally aspirated?????? 2. If I don't get the 3" FAB9 airbox fitted at the same time as the intake and throttle body will it need a retune, when/if it eventually turns up?????? As I'm impulsive, to a fault, decisions will be made within....."what's the time now"???....let's say 12 hours......LOL
    • yeah its just so expensive nowadays and its easy to lose motivation very quickly when you start adding up the costs. I acquired the car from a collector in Melbourne and was lucky to get the opportunity to buy something already completed.  I looked at a proper resto and your paying over 300-400K for a proper one (nut and bolt) so this one to me seemed like a much better option! Car is in private storage and for serious buyers, welcome to come see it/drive it in person (photos don't do it justice).
