I had a modified R200 diff in my 32 gts and it would click as it was nearly at the point of locking. This usually happens when doing slow speed tight turns under very light throttle.

I put the stock R180 back in and apart from it not having much limo effect any more it also clicks but no where near as loudly.

These are normal sounds from any mechanical LSD that uses dry clutch plates instead of a viscous fluid to lock the centre under load. They are adjutable by simply putting more shims in the centre to tighten the clutches.

Just go the mini spool it's much better

Hey West,

The clicking noise is the inside wheel skipping forward in tight turns. The diff locks up forcing the inside wheel to move at the same speed as the outside wheel.

The internals of the diff are swapped into the stock diff housing so that the driveshafts, tailshaft etc aren;t affected.

Are you sure its the diff?

Can you descibe the noise almost like a small ball bearing being dropped into a heavy still tin?

Reason i ask is that im pretty sure my car has a std diff, and from the day i bought the car it makes this slight click noise when i take off from stationary. Had it checked out a few times and two mechanics havce said its fine. Mayve CV noise???

If it were the mech diff making the noise as a few have mentioned, wouldnt you feel the diff locking up with the chassis crabbing a little???
