why is it when u drive thru the city or anywhere else where there is hotted up cars, why do all the owners give u dirty looks all the time, pisses me off a hell of a lot.

whats your opinion on this??.

Just like some girls mix up "playinghard to get" with "hard to like", i think some guys confuse arrogant/tough/hard whatever, with cool.

IGNORE THEM... Try not to look/turn your head at their hotted up cars... It works everytime for me... they'd probably be annoyed even more as they expected to be notice,but u don't give a damn; And as in ur case yourself, u won't see the "dirty look" on their face so you won't get annoyed... so u should continue to go merry your way...

I was thinking about this the other day.. Its basically international with hotted up cars. When i'm in NY i notice it alot, also in Miami etc. Who knows where it came from, but most people that do it think 'hostility = cool'. When in fact their 'cool = hardcore top bloke!'

i find i got dirty looks more because people were jealous. like "nice car ... but why are you driving it?"

having said that, when people look at my car, i often don't notice and that might appear to be rude.

but if i ever see a car i really respect on the street (m3, 911 turbo/gt2/gt3, e55) i always maybe a point to give a big thumbs up and tell them they have a great car and in every instance they are really appreciative and often humble.

I find that it's mostly skyline drivers, everytime I go past one they give me a dirty look, or at the last second they look at the corner of their eye.

I've also had skylines drive up my behind and fully cut me off!

I pretty much smile at most done up cars on the street and if I see another skyline I beep or wave with a smile
