R32_GODZILLA
Hey guys posting here for an RB20 Water Temp Sensor as I'm hoping someone has one lying around/not in use that I can buy/borrow to see if mine is functioning correctly. Been having some cold starting issues with slight surging before reaching normal operating temps and it's fine. Been eliminating most causes so now I'm stuck with giving this a go. So before going to Nissan to buy one new (BTW anyone have a part number for it?), I'm hoping someone in VIC can help me out - I can come pickup whenever you're free. Apparently RB26 sensors are the same as RB20 ones if anyone can clarify? Would give me a much broader chance. Let me know here/PM/or call me on 0406 948 342 Thanks everyone Steve. R32_GODZILLA
Anyone? I've attached an image to show you the sensor I'm talking about that is circled: Coolant/water sensor? Same deal? I have been to wreckers, asked around and PM'd to no avail. battery
thats sensor is about $78 from nissan but i dont have the part number handy. if you unplug it the ECU will assume a standard 80c operating temp, maybe this helps... Rowdyr32
Just seems like the way my old 32 gtst always ran. Mates one does it aswell. It ran really rich/retarded until right on when the water temp reached middle of the gauge, then it surged and then ran fine after that when it was warm. Thanks for the info - If the ECU will assume temps I will unplug it early tomorrow morning and give it a shot. At least then I can narrow it down and pin point the cause. I'm pretty confident it is the sensor. I've got someone looking for the sensor off their blown RB20 for me anyhow as I'd still like one. Hopefully save me a steep charge from Nissan! Just seems like the way my old 32 gtst always ran. Mates one does it aswell. It ran really rich/retarded until right on when the water temp reached middle of the gauge, then it surged and then ran fine after that when it was warm. Yeah It's real annoying! I've been putting up with it for a while as it isn't overly concerning I just want to iron it out. If this works I'll let you guys know on the results - Hopefully save some headaches for anyone else that comes across this common problem. partyboy73
I assumed this was the normal cold start auto choke thing where it richens the mixture and advances the timing till the engine is warm...? Been the same with all my 32's Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/310318-rb20-water-temp-sensor-needed/#findComment-5346089 Share on other sites
