Need Help

Hi, I just bought a Vspec R33... now its a 95 model.... is meant to have a factory stroker kit on it.... how am i to identify this? i been looking everywhere i can i thought there is bound to be more than 1 skyline expert on this site... ..

Please comment and let me know what info you need...

Unlikely that a stroker kit would be a factory option. Post up your vin and get someone to look it up on FAST.Only way to know for sure is to open the engine.

If the seller told you it has a factory stroker kit, then he's telling you some serious porkies i'm afraid.

i know in some occasions they did have a factory stroker. which isnt like the obvious usual stroker kit.... the n1, 400r.... the import papers said its capacity is 2.8... and there is deff a bigger cam than a stock rb26.... it is meant to have slightly bigger turbos, bigger cams, etc.....

R33 GTR N1

Still a RB26DETT but the water cooling channels in the block are enhanced to increase flow.

The block and internal components are strengthened.

The pistons have 1.2 mm (0.047 in) top rings, but otherwise as standard.

The connecting rods are standard.

The crankshaft is standard but balanced / refined.

The specifications of the camshafts were improved for power.

Upgraded oil and water pump, to improve the cooling and lubrication of the engine.

Larger and stronger twin turbo's.

Nismo 400R

Used a RB26DETT but is modified and stroked to a 2.8lt.

From memory, it is built at the Nismo Omori Factory.

Reinforced cylinder block / cylinder head / metal head gasket / pistons with cooling channels.

Forged crank shaft / connecting rods.

N1 turbines with reinforced actuator.

High flow air intake.

Upgraded exhaust system.

The Nismo 400R is the only car that Nismo built from Factory with a 2.8lt.

Having said that, Nissan / Nismo never made a RB28DETT from factory as they are all RB26DETT's but Stroked to a 2.8lt, in my opinion.

The rest were 2.6lt, but if you have the import papers to let us have a look then I would be interested to see.

I have not been able to find my import papers in this pile of car shit i have had to get done and sorted.... now... this is the interesting part...

My engine number is Rb260519684... now.... seeing i bought this car from a private seller where my uncle imported it... it has a Nissan International Motorsports V-spec Sticker on it. stick was on the car when it was imported and has not been added sticker is aged very much.. now... seeing its a old car i thought id do the smart thing and get her timing belt done, and all the fluids so pretty much now the engine bay is as best i can get her without spending the coin...

when i took her to Custom Exhaust Specialists at meadowbrook qld(i know one of the fellas down there)... they told me when i picked it up that they had to ring Valvoline and order in over $400 dollars worth of oils just for my Gear Box, Diffs, and transfer cases.... Valvoline said to the owner of CES that this running gear is totally different to any other GTR they have seen in a long time...

So clearly that the block states the standard 05u stamp but something is most certainly there..

Where would i go about looking up the history of my car in japan?

Your VIN number is the Vehicle Identification Number from the Japanese factory.

It contains your model number followed by the build number of you vehicle.

Examples:

- BNR32001000

- ECR33003928

- BNR34000897

When the car comes to australia the VIN number is prefixed with 6U9000 and you're Australian VIN number becomes 6U9000BNR32001000 (for example).

When posting VIN's all we need is the part of the VIN number after 6U9000.

The VIN number is found on the factory blue compliance plate.

So get the VIN and post it in the thread and a SAU member with the Nissan FAST Program will / can decode it for you.

It will tell you the exact Model / Make / Year / Colour / Series / RWD / 4WD / Man / Auto.

That will be the birth of the car, other then that, if you have the service history books, receipts of what is done on the car or get your mechanic, who is familiar with GTR's, is the only other way to tell you what your car has.

In regards to your 1st post about having a factory stroker kit...

Now you know it is a RB26 not a RB28

You have a (built in March) '95 model V-Spec as you have stated in the 1st post, with a RB26.

By looking at the paint code it is Midnight Purple and all the self explanatory info

What do you mean by "How do we Decode this?"

As in you want to decode it yourself?
