Just wanting to know abit more info about the HKS Circle Earth System or even something similar. i know in general what it is meant to do but i cant seem to find any for r33's mostly r32's and r34's since the battery is in the front. I have seen one of two kits for sale for r33's but this was for 1995 and above. Just wondering if anyone has one in thier r33 or know where to see some information on how to install one for a r33. Cheers Rob

ive done a simple diy earthing sys that i found on a jap webpage. simply u earth the components that require better grounding for optimum performance like manifold, turbo, alternator, exhaust, stuff like that. i found that there was a difference in performance, the car ran alot smoother and overall response was better and at a fraction of the price of one of those kits. the kits probably work alot better but this is my cheap mans alternative:D:D by the way the link to that site is dead so i cant post it up anymore.

Just curious as to exactly what a circular earth kit does? How does it benefit the engine/performance etc?

The reason I ask: they seem to be a very popular mod over here to do. Also interested cause it seems like a mod that might benefit N/A as much as a turbo'd motor...

To all,

From what i've seen tested here in adelaide, the kit appears to be another japanese gimmick that one buys and every one else follows. When tested here and written up in zoom there was no increase in performance. If the factory deemed that they needed more earthing spots under the bonnet they would have installed them, god only knows there is enough now.Anyway my idea of a clean engine bay is to tidy it up and hide/get rid of surplus wiring!

But hey every one to their own opinion!!!

Regards,

SKYLINE....

The only advantage I've heard of is where an engine has been in and out of the engine bay a few times and the factory earth straps are getting a bit torn up, but then all you really need to do is repace the appropriate straps and your done.

Sorry guys, cant help you. Im a S14 boy =P

If you have a workshop manual, it'll show you some. Otherwise look for points where the engine is wired to the wirewall and stuff. Also other points where u see grounding wires to the plenum. Also give the negative terminal of ur battery a good scrub as well as the fat negative lead that leads to the chassis.
