Hi all, FYI, the 2010MY GT-R for Australia has just been announced by Nissan. There is a $3,000 price increase however there are a few spec changes.

Now you get Sat Nav, bluetooth connection, ipod/USb connection, data logger function, automatic headlights and speed sensing front wipers as standard. Price is now $158,800 for the 'base' model and $162,800 for the Premium. Metallic paint is now $1,495 (previously $1,750).

So it seems they have added a reasonable bit of spec for a smallish price increase, what i don't know is whether this is just a local model change with some more spec or the next GLOBAL model year change or series update that will see mechanical refinements and upgrades.

New sat nav unit is a big upgrade from the current model MFD.

This is indeed the global model change which includes minor suspension and bushing tweaks, SpecV rear diffuser, wheel centre cap changes, more clear coat on front and rear bumpers as well.

The compact flash slot on the previous models is now gone and is replaced by a USB slot as you mentioned. Interestingly, the MFD can boot from and access this USB slot for software installation. Should open up the possibility of development of third party apps maybe. Nismo's MFD upgrade uses this tech to install itself in the GT-R after all. Hopefully apps don't need to be digitally signed by Nissan......

There's a whole computer in that MFD, if you can access it, there's a command line interpreter, POSIX like OS, 3G modem capabilities, etc. Would be very interesting to see if anyone puts some effort in to develop at the very least a data logging system ala Nismo but on the cheap / free for the community.

I'd do it but i dont have a GTR to test out my stuff... :)

And what happened to the 5% tariff reduction - it disappeared in thin air somewhere bewteen the Nissan HQ at Dandy and all the dealerships lol.....

Dealers have to make money aswell, and the % profit is pretty low compared to other dealers.

Damelian makes anywhere up to $50k profit on a $170k Ferrari...

$20k on a merc selling at $130k

they still did not put cameras on them. doesnt matter - already done a 2010 one. few things have changed internally but there is one running around with a set of cameras front and rear on it.

drop me a line if you are afraid of the low hanging nose.

With it unplugged it is easier not to get confused. Also with the r32 wiring, the high beam has 2 power supplies (one when you push the switch forward and the other when you temporarily pull it back; so if it is the high beam blowing you will need to trace both circuits

    • That's a short. Find the short. It will be somewhere between that fuse and the headlight. Start by removing the plugs from the back of the headlight and dimmer switches, and measure resistance to earth. Supply side (power from the fuse) should have none. The other side should have resistance compatible with whatever globe(s) is there (which is relatively easy to say for a normal globe, perhaps not as easy to say for LEDs). Anyway, if you have very low resistance, you defo have a short. Then you just have to run the wiring like you're running the bowel of a dog (on the operating table) that has swallowed something it wasn't supposed to.
    • Hey guys, need help figuring out why my driver side (RH) fuse 15amp keeps blowing. The Driver Sides Headlamp is out, i replaced these a long time ago with LED ones that were working for 1-2 years. Now, the driver side light is out and i traced it back to a broken fuse. I replaced the 15 amp fuse in the engine bay and as soon as i flip the headlight on, it blows the new fuse. Any idea what's going on?
