My mate just got his new toy delivered...its Yuey Tan's Changi Airport sponsored Porsche Cup car that famously raced and beat a Boeing 747 in a promotional race prior to last years Singapore Grand Prix (see link). Before purchasing he also got to test drive the car for 2 days at Sepang and cut 7 seconds of his lap times after recieving some expert tuition.

The car adds to an already impressive stable of rides including a mint Porsche Cup 996 (never raced only ever used by its Japanese owner for the occaisional track day) GTR R34, GTR R32 (11000klm on it), and four very low klm Mazda rotaries (R100, RX4 Savanna etc)

During his stay in Malaysia he made some very good contacts and is planning to take both Porsches back to Sepang and hold track days there for those with pockets large enough. :D

He will be doing the Drive Bathurst day later this year in the new car...bastard!!

It is depressing how much money there is over here in Singapore and also Malaysia. Such expensive and uber cool toys everywhere. Except for the pink R35 i saw on Wednesday that had a black roof drift style and had the most obvious mask lines from the respray.

Cant wait to do Sepang, just have to wait and hear what car a friend is organising for me , i would rather a punt of this thing :D

Brad said having two whole days at Sepang test driving the car was an absolute blast...he learnt so much from having as he put it "Asia's Jim Richards" sitting next to him. Having the 996 for two years was a suitable 'appertiser' for this car...which i would put as a dessert served as a main!

Troy, I arrive in SG tonight for work. stayin at raffles, so come grab a singapore sling after work tomorrow or friday! Heading to malaysia on sunday, gonna try and borrow a 1JZ ceffy off a mate if you want to come along for a drive.

maybe...hehe...he is very happy that im giving the drag racing away...but he is yet to see how bloody shocking my driving skills are.

2:17 on slicks...full circuit...damp track.

he is holding a drive day over there later in the year....i just got my invite...woohoo!

      I don't really know general street pads too well, but there is no reason you can't get a low dust, long wearing, no squeal pad that works for those calipers at a reasonable price....they would just be a low end to medium price daily style pad.  If new pads don't have much bite or they loose it over time, it is probably just the pad glazing up which you can fix by giving them a good thrashing every now and then (or get the mechanic to deglaze them at next service) Track or semi track pads are where you have to put up with excessive dust (and potentially squealing as a side effect of that) in return for good bite and performance when very hot. Street pads have nothing like that sort of punishment, even long downhills with the brakes on are easier than a track session

      lol yeah I'll check that, reminds me of the LDV thread!  I don't think that is the problem here, the starter doesn't even solenoid click. I did do a super quick test by removing the starter motor's power cable from the engine bay fuse box and the battery voltage was still 10v, so something super fishy is going on. BTW here is a R33 fuse box table I threw together from a few sources....use at own risk! R33 Fuse Box and Sources.xlsx

      Sounds like the JAX guys must have installed some really awful pads, are they BenShit/BenDicks pads by any chance?

      Result of another R35GTR build. Similar specs as above except this is running our bigger size SS-2 profile option. Made similar power except this car runs on Pump 98 fuel. Build specs are: Nissan R35 GTR 2015 model stock engine and box. ETS street intercooler boost logi intercooler piping with tial bov, boost logi turbo inlet pipe ID 1050 injector DW 300C fuel pump Decatted oem down pipe and y pipe& HKS exaust 3inch intake pipe Upgraded actautors HyperGear SS-2 high flow option Final result is 639whp / 477wkws hubs, Ron 93 / P98 fuel at 20psi.
