hey guys i have a 93 rb20det r32 with ecu and big turbo etc etc and i was just wondering if there was any way to perform a cheap cam upgrade???i dont really like the idea or reprofiling cams ... but ive heard that n/a rb20de cams should give an increase??? and another thing i was wondering is would rb26 cams and solid lifters fit or something along those lines...im gonna make some adjustable cam gears and do the timing belt while im at it if it doesnt already have cam gears lol.... anyone got any ideas???

actually i read somewhere about putting NA cams into the turbo engine but i'm not sure if it was true... i think it also said the intake cam was the same but exhaust cam was different.

this could be the ideal low-cost upgrade for you if it works...

RB20DE inlet has a smaller duration and less lift than the DET, ie 232deg and 7.3mm lift vs 240 and 7.8deg lift. (edit: ie, not likely to get gains there)

Exhaust cams are the same EXCEPT, the lobe centre angles are different (as they are for inlet too).

I would hazard a guess that you would get gains from adj cam gears, this is based on gains from using them with RB25, so not really conclusive.
