Hey guys,

just wondering if anyone has experimented with those multi systems found on ebay? If coupled together with some decent speakers eg Alpine Type R, would it be "as good" as the more expensive brand name ones offered by JVC, Pioneer etc? Its tempting to try at only $350 for the unit versus $1,000+ for the others. Thanks.

no. they're shit. not worth the waste of money. JVC ones are shit too. terrible quality.

dont be tempted mate, its not worth the fuss.

if i explained all the customers i've had that have been burned by those pieces of shit, i'd fill this whole page.

not worth it, get a decent one.

HAHA sold, thanks for the valuable info. Please feel free to continue posting your experiences guys

Iv bought and installed several of these cheaper ones off ebay. Eonon ones.

Iv had a coupla glitches in 1 but apart from that they have been pretty decent. id reccomend the double din as the trouble i had with the other single din screens was the slide/motorized bit not working well.

The 1091 model iv found to be great- albeit it is a cheap option to high end items and doesnt have large amounts of sound customisation...

JVC, crap , worse then ebay radios

Ebay, hit or miss quality . but for the price versus features is hard to beat ??, BUT !! lousy graphics on the display, some Freq. output specs are way off base. noisy motors ,some shipped with 2006 GPS maps trial versions only ?? but warranty service seems to be ok.

(some cars featured in professional sound offs use them, so not as bad as people think.... if your using outboard amps, preamp, processors)

single din units (foldout LCD) are trouble, steer clear of them

a lot of name brands have lowered prices to compete with ebay radios in the double din market. so do your homework first

Have seen a few people with similar units that where bought of ebay...and i have to say im still sitting on the fence after having researched a little bit myself. From what i can tell if your lucky enough to get one that works then the features are great however im not one clued in enough to comment on sound quality.

Two of my good friends both have one of these units, one is very happy with his purchase and the other was DOA and has yet to resolve the issue.

My 2cents? probably not worth the trouble/risk, stick with what you know is good and chances are you wont have to worry about it down the track
