This is my first post, so my apologies if I stuff anything up!

I bought my Stagea in November last year and love it, great fun to drive!

My problem is that I've just moved house and my garage has a bit of a crest and the car is a bit too low to clear it (i'm getting snagged on the cat) so I want to get it a bit closer to the stock height. It currently has Impul suspension on it and it handles really well, nice and smooth over pretty much all my local roads.

My local suspension place said they can just swap the springs out to get some more height out of it.... As I have never really done too much with suspension (apart from a 5inch lift on my old Toyota Surf hehe) I was wondering if this was the way to go or am I going to have to look at selling the Impul set up and going for a whole new set up?

Thanks in advance!

Will.

It depends what you want out of it. How is the setup now?

If you like it you can just get springs, but a fully adjustable set is so much easier to tune to your desired heights and dampening rates. A cheaper set of coilovers will set you back around $1200 which isnt much more than getting springs I guess, and you can still sell the Impul's.

Can you get some pics of what you have there now, and any other mods like the front? Looks great.

Thanks for the help guys.

I think the coilovers may be the way to go, just so I can get the height perfect.

Took one of the wheels off to get some pics of the shocks and wheels (the wheels are going on ebay) and it was a P.I.T.A!!! The socket wrench in the cars toolkit wouldn't fit into the holes on the 5ZiGEN wheels! Lucky I hadn't got a flat tyre, although it was pretty stupid not to check it when I bought the car. None of my sockets here would fit, so I had to buy a new one.

BTW Houdini, I think my bonnet is definitely weighing me down too, any ideas where I can source a dolphin one?

In answer to your question on other mods, all I have is:

- Fujitsubo Legalis

- Custom Dump (purchased but not fitted yet)

- Grill Insert (any idea on what it is?)

- Aero Kit (without driving lights unfortunately, if anyone has any idea on where I can get these?)

Heres a few more pics.

Try import monster, you might track down a bargain from japan.

I too have the aero kit but fortunately my plastic covers are black and not the same colour as the front bar so they don't stand out quiet as well.

Has anyone else thought of getting an airbag suspension setup? Is it possible with these cars with all the electronics???

Thought about it but even with the bilstein kit and a trailer on the back it does not sit too low.

It should be possible because of the separate spring mounting on the rear.

Cheers

How do you reckon it would go with a car trailer on the back....I might have to tow the DR30 down to PI if we don't get it finished this week.

I recon that would be really difficult to tow it behind you car as you don't have a tow bar.......LOL :)

You cannot get the Dolphin bonnet anymore. They stopped making it early last year :D

Your grill is made by Dolphin... and is quite nice, might I say :) (they go for ~$400 plus shipping if you are curious)

I am sure you could get the driving lights for the Aero kit... they do pop up from time to time on Yahoo Auctions so browsing the Import Monster website regularly is a pretty good idea.

Yeah, been keeping an eye on Yahoo.jp, nothings come up yet but I'm sure they'll be on there eventually.

Decided now to go for the spring option just due to the price.

Got a quote for 4 new springs fitted for $700 in Artarmon, seems a bit pricey?

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get the springs done?

Give Ben at Northshore and call and see where he got spring work done on the cars. I had a feeling he had it done by Pedders.

Yeah maybe a little. What springs are they putting in? Stock springs from a V35 or 350z are the same as the stock springs for a nM35 - it's what I have in my car at the moment, I sourced them for $350 and had them fitted whilst getting a bunch of other stuff done, including breaks and CV joint, wheel alignment etc and the labour on that was $360

Yeah, spoke to Ben yesterday he said 700 would be about right. Oh well, hopefully I'll get a bit for the Impul springs when they go on ebay!
