yehh if i didnt have a misplaced love for 33's i woulda been all over an s13/180 soo good for getting ya slide on and yeh cheap to mod/fix and out of N/A's i dont think any car comes close to comparison .. unless u get a vn on ceptors that'll go sideways but as for controlling it ...well yeh.

Dw sau Vic has always been like this. Us guys in the se suburbs have been making our own to make up for the lack of cruises EVEN when there where people that were officIally appointed roles in sau vics "executive" committee to create these small meets for everyone. What a surprise that they did Jack shit and did not organise anything. Of course myself and a few other sau members volenteered for these positions and because of how secluded the executive committee of sau is of course they wouldn't even consider anyone they don't personally like to actually do the job that they are meant to do. I'm already regretting renewing my membership.

Ey i helped with those meets to and im upper northern re :P

and yeh, part of the reason i didnt renew was the fact most of what i go to are the SE meets

yeah any car with a front swap is generally sus.

i'd buy a ceffy. even in N/A form they're fun with a locked diff. great balance of practicality, moddability and stealth. sucks when it comes to panels though.

hows about get ur licence first then maybe decide on a car?

i want to get somethign and get used to driving it first.

the mercer im driving atm is horrible. handles like a boat, throttle responce is terrible. i have to really put my foot down to make it move, where as the triton is really smooth.

the sil80 was a 400 car run some are legit..most are smashed 180s as s13 fronts were cheaper more common.. but in all honesty mate for what you want to do a N/A r33 wont cut it.. 32 yes or S chassis you'll never look back.

sure 33 is better interior etc but very heavy without a turbo you'lls truglle to get sideways and do a good job of it you'd basically have to leave stockies on anything with more rubber you want go anywhere

gtst hows the sale goin man? ur car is clean as

Man...good thread. I must admit, I've been wanting to go to one of the meetings, but not knowing anyone at all there, I'd kinda feel out of place going. I think SAU does need more meet ups & cruises - be it organised by the SAU comittee or SAU members.

I know other forums do have these more often, but I'm personally more interested in meeting others with Skylines than other cars - and some of the other forums do have bad reps for hoons etc (from what I've read)- so not really interested in meeting up with anyone there if it's going to be attracting unwanted attention.

Anyway, that's my opinion on all of this - everyone obviously has and is entitled to their own.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it tomorrow night, will be good to finally meet some people on here.

haha cheers, yeh had plenty money chucked into it, and lose it all :P

yeh man thats cars my first 33 droppd a bomb on .. but i bought it when they were $20 odd k stock as arock how times change these new p plate laws killed the market when i bought my 33 mid last year had my choice of hundreds didnt do any leg work just rang around making offers cos they re a dime a dozen they say no bang onto the next one.. sad really thnkfully its a toy car so dont need to sell it

gtr boy the best advice i can give u based on what ur saying

    • Update: Tunehouse looked into the problem and identified a wiring issue between the camera unit and the connector. They managed to get it working , but did warn me at some point it will stop working again. From their perspective it is unserviceable and will need replacement. They did some research and found that the new replacement camera would be Approx $1400 supply only (their fitting cost would be $190) . They did provide the part number (28442-JL05B) and a quick google of the part number shows that these are rather expensive brand new (seemingly no longer in manufacture) for the places that still have them in stock, with the used option potentially presenting  the same issue down the track at some unknown point. They are happy for me to supply the part so that they can fit it. Decisions, decisions... I can definitely recommend Tunehouse (thankyou Vee37!). Cost for the diagnosis was as quoted  ($190) , car was ready on time and communication was top notch. Their workshop is super clean and modern, and there was plenty of car candy parked out the front on the day I went.   Would definitely go back.
    • to fix the voltage drop issue I swapped out the old 150amp alternator which turns out is a brand known for having issues and replaced it with the black 180amp alternator beside it
    • For anyone interested, the Way Back Machine has that Japanese website archived with pictures, etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20051023225805fw_/http://www.a31cefiro.com/air_con.htm "Simply swapping the wiring of the harness will not allow it to function properly. For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf
