hmmm why my name and sig? If your the one that wants the car to be able to drive

the person that ownes it is only selling it

dont know.. so they can send you an EPA letter? :P

scotty-

fkn kesha. shes sick

...

Sounds like my ticket into ATO licenced chemicals

Ive heard Isopropyl Alcohol is used to make drugs O_o

...

We use it for cleaning as it doesn't leave residue and evaporates quickly. It's also a skin disinfectant

oo i got a reply from Recochem

200Ltr drum of 100% denatured industrial ethanol = $437.25 + GST

Equates to about;

$6.60 per week (3Litrs/week)

$3.00 per week (3Litrs of dimineral water/week)

-------

$9.60 per week

Now is this worth the 30-40kw atw gain O_o

just wondering if you've accounted for the shelf life of ethanol, its reactivity to atmosphere (esp humidity from memory ethanol's eficiency decreases when left exposed to water vapour in air) and also expansion of such a large volume in your garage's ambient temperature.

no one thinks that far ahead, you learn from experience not from preventing it in the first place.

fair enough everyone likes different things. what music do you listen to?

i listen to everything, dance/trance house, rnb, retro, 80s

just not a fan of metal, classical or country

andre rieu

shits rad

hell yeh

yeah, i like justin bieber sometimes.. i have to be in the mood for it ya know

ummm just ghey

thats on a 60litre tank though

the evo only has like 47 i think and only about 40-42 is used when driving before the fuel light comes on

so works out cheaper if i do it  haha

haha you would only need about 2ltrs of ethanol and 2ltrs of water for every tank of fuel.

You can also cheap out by using methylated spirits or methanol (which both are far cheaper than ethanol) and use tap water/rain water/britta filtered water

You will just need to check the nozzle from time to time to see if it hasnt built up with crap.

Good question, I know methanol absorbs moisture so its best to keep in an air tight container. I know methanol is fine being stored for long periods but havent researched into ethanol yet.

Contacted the chemical place for prices for methylated spirit and a 50/50 mix of water/meth

also pat....

$1500 = secondhand HKS2530 kit. Both Nick and I run it and get roughly 80kw boost in performance.

you just spent how much and get 30 - 40kw? and ongoing costs are how much?

yo question folks.....

how much power will an s15 make with basic bolt ons eg zorst, cooler, pod etc

cbf going on ns.com lol

Sif be happy with a few simple bolt-ons Chad  Like Nick said, it's like 170rwkw tops.

Buy something pre-modified or with a forged rebuild. Save yourself money on all that shit.

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
