fkn barbs

yet another reason to hate barbs...

It's perfectly safe. Every mechanic has told me that. They couldn't even tell that the chassis was bent. It was the old owner that told me that.

dood... that's a fkn dog act.... i'd headin over with a baseball bat

my commodores chassi is bent and you cant tell if it is...car runs pretty straight....lol...

of course you cant tell it's a commo. it probably came out of the factory bent and you crashed and straightened it

if it doesn't crab and can be negated with suspension alignment, then it's fine to drive. did the owner tell you what else he hulk smashed when he bent the chassis?

If you are gonna fix the bent chassis it's a big job. I'd recommend a ditch and run if it's bad enough that you have to.

if you've munted a car enough to bend the chassis, then the only thing the control arms etc are gonna be good for is as a door stop. You kinda have to replace em, he wasn't doing any favours.

maybe get adjustable arms, makes it easier to offset any misalignments in the chassis compared to static factory replacements.

He said he replaced everything on the left/rear. Tie rod, control arms, etc.
sounds like the result of some epic snap oversteer.

Yeah he was drifting in the wet lol. Who the hell drifts an MR2?!

Where do I get adjustable arms?

I just my car up for sale so want to find out this shit asap lol.

ok relax, do the following in this order:

1. find out if the alignment can be accounted for using your existing suspension

2. if not find out how much it needs to be adjusted by and what aftermarket arms can give you this amount of adjustment

3. if yes, buy aftermarket arms, fit, drive, enjoy

4. if no, sell car

ok? don't try and do everything all at once. work through the problem.

well you, and the previous owner have both driven this car with the problem just fine so far, so driving it a bit longer just the way it is isn't gonna hurt. it may wear out your tyres unevenly and make it slighly unpredictable to steer on the limit, but it shouldn't matter if you're driving normally.
