I can live with it knowing I put my money in something that'll make me more...I'll be back in a car I want soon enough

Could've paid cash for a heavily modified 34GTR, but that won't make me a cent

Won't be getting anything for a while yet, but don't have a clue what I'd get...Nothing new really does it for me....

Few things that always cross my mind are 34 GTR, V35, 32/33 GTR...that's about it really...so who knows

V35 if you plan on supercharging/turbo charging it otherwise has to be a 34 gtr. personally i wouldn't spend 40K+ on a jap. some euro luxury/build quality would be nice for a change..

There's a few different things to consider before I chose obviously, but if I was spending $40k+, a lot more options start to present themselves

GTR would be mainly about performance, while still looking good

V35 would be more a nice cruiser first and foremost, but I only like them if done right, so it'd need to be low with a fair stance etc, supercharge/turbo would be nice but would probably be a longer term goal

euro, not sure what I'd get if I went down that path, but like I said, if you're spending 40k+, you'll have a bit more to choose from...

you'd want more for your money if you were spending that much i just dont think there are any jap cars old or new that offer a good all round package. 40k i'd go a bmw e46 m3 (if you want a straight 6) or audi b6 s4 (if you want a v8)without thinking twice coz it has everything luxury, performance, looks, quality etc. if you find a jap car for less than 40K with as much spec and goodies then by all means go for it

And the repairs/maintenance bills to go with it :P

that just depends on -

1) how much of a lemon you buy

2) how useless you are with tools

bout 40K for one with about 100Ks. pretty similar to 34 gtrs

id like to own a hsv coupe but they just aint worth the money people are asking for!

local spare parts, no cop hassles, v8 and a coupe!

Although people want like $50k for them!

coz one day they will be collectibles

you have a serious euro envy problem... just cos it's made in EU doesn't make it better than anything made in japan...

imho the onlymain thing the euro's do better than the japs is charge

    • Interesting that it has 2 to the USB stick. Are the ones to the USB stick different? Or labelled anything at all? Telstra 4G is Band 28 is the long range one you want, it's 700mHz. I'm trying to do some reading on the Cel-Fi stuff, but I can't find any decent info online that makes me feel comfortable being able to work out the sort of antennas we could get away to swapping it over to. The antennas I'm starting to do some stuff with at work, are a transparent antenna. They're designed to stick onto the window. Which means you wouldn't even have the antenna outside the car. Volkswagen have just started using the exact same types of antennas on some of their new cars (And from the same antenna manufacturer). But, RF stuff is a bit of a dark art some days, and getting it wrong in your car could make for a terrible waste of money trying to swap antennas :S
    • I'm not going to lie Duncan, Saturday and Sunday were pretty rough days. The sort of work I was doing would previously have ended up with me spending about an hour and a half chatting with Neil. Firstly about something I had a question about, and then both of us rambling off on tangents.  I think how Neil did things, and his attitude to getting it done is helping me in part to get this stuff done. Then I can actually do the things I enjoy more easily
    • Talked to another R34 GT-T owner, he said bonnet of his car once fell and slammed from full height because of strong wind at a car show and nothing was damaged or broken, so I guess I'm just overthinking some things but yeah, just making sure I'm not damaging the car anyhow cause wanna keep it for a long time.
