Bigpond prices have gone down, I got 200GB plan (probably only use 100 a month) 30mbps connection with awesome latency ftw, you pay less if you have like a home phone and stuff as well I think its something like 80 bucks I just download shows rather then get foxtel or any pay tv

They have 25 - 50 - 100 - 200 plans though, and as for reliability bigpond will trump all, anyone that says otherwise is fail

true that.

FUCK!

Nathan's new wheels look awesome!

Last time I checked, NBN was one of the few good bits of policy to come out of labor.

except the price tag and the fact it will be redundant techonology by the time they finish.

Just had some dero sounding kid offer me 2k and then explain why 2k is a good offer..

LOL

Wish they'd roll some cable down my street then, sick of having 1 (sucky) option

+1 fkn adsl is best can get in my area its fkn joke cant even play like counter strike 600 ping ftw :O

Ash, I meant my parents house where I live at the moment is around the corner from the exchange. My house is just inside the boundary according to some website thar was linked in the adsl thread a few weeks ago.

Not sure what other options are available to me but need decent speed, adsl minimum, and decent download limit... Splitting the bill with housemates, so might be able to spend a bit more if necessary.

What's better adsl2 or cable?

Ah i get ya.

mmm sounds like you are on the outer rim etc, you are basically fked :(

You also wont be able to get cable if they have not installed it - which i would doubt they have.

A mate of mine is having the exact same issue in Caroline Springs. No cable, and only ADSL1 :(

Based on what? The gross waste of 60mil?

Are they rolling out cable still? I thought all of that sort of infrastructure spending had pretty much stopped, especially with everyone waiting to see what happens with the NBN

Pretty much it all has stopped for the time being until everyone knows whats going on.

50gb for $80/month without phone etc....don't really need a home phone, and 50gb would probably be enough...hmm

Yeah that's what I thought :(

Telstra tricked me (well I tricked myself) when I moved into my house, looked like standard HFC running down the street for cable access, but it's just a big bundle of crappy phone lines.

Yep, there was no proper infrastructure planning.

There are no trains, limited bus services. No decent phone/communications installs done.

Even the roads in these new estates are totally fked. I was driving through Caroline Springs last week and the roads there are worse than Hoddle St that has 1000x the volume of cars

It'll be interesting to see in a further 10yrs what happens to these new areas, im slightly worried.

isnt it more like 40BILLION?

How long does it take to become a SAU Vic member?

Not long man, give it a week or 2 to get processed.

Maybe earlier...

Hey who's KE70 is this Blags?

And did u get my emailed pics of your car?

you should be ok on ADSL2

if the speed you get on ADSL2 is too slow due to distance they wont let you use up an ADSL2 port and will kick you back to an ADSL1 port

there are minimum commitment speeds for each type before they will turn it on for you, so if your too far, they will give you the other etc

so just for ADSL2 in the hope youll get that

ie they wont let you have an ADSL2 and sync at 3mbps

theyll drop you to an ADSl1 port

    • Well it does have a motor with the same DNA as an Accord V6 motor. The J30A is a successor to the Tiger rice cooker C32A motor found in those cars.
    • FD RX7 I would probably marry if legal R32 GTR is toughest NSX looks like it's made from leftover Prelude and Accord bits
    • When going to a suspension shop should I send them the default nissan settings or just let them do their own thing? I ask this because I have aftermarket rear camber arms and my car is lowered a bit (front end is basically stock after I change to those nismo bushes)
    • Ok sounds good, thanks for your help. Hopefully if I end up changing it to the nismo bushes I don't get that veering issue. I don't think there's a point in lubing up these bushes again. Weird that it it makes just as much noise with all the grease inside it versus without grease prior to removal. Bizarre.
    • Yeah, you don't need camber bushes on stock arms to make a car drive straight unless it's got another problem. F'rigsample, slide the thing into a kerb, bend the front subframe mounts a little....subframe is now twisted, shifted or otherwise in the wrong spot...and you need to do funky stuff with the wheel alignment to get it to drive straight. Maybe a little more caster on one side, or a little more camber. FWIW, I can have my camber off side to side by a half a degree or more, and either way, so more one side, or more on the other, and the car doesn't really want to pull to one side. It will definitely ride road camber differently, and want to track uphill (ie, towards the centreline when on the LHS of a normal crowned piece of road, like it should) or want to roll downhill (which it really shouldn't). But on fairly flat road surfaces, like the middle of a 3 or 4 lane motorway, a half a degree either way doesn't make a lot of difference. I sometimes do quite a few miles with my wheel alignment messed up, because I don't always get a chance to set it right again after a serious dismantling, before I have to drive it to work again. Like, a whole week's worth of daily shuffle.
