rage?

how much was a new one from toyota?

$2500 from the US, plus shipment which would be ridiculous.

I talked to the guy that sent me this one though and he said it was tested before it was sent from Japan and ran fine. So no idea what's going on.

Just gonna have to pull the box out again and replace whatever is causing the problem. Might actually be the diff (yes they're in the gearbox on transverse engines)

Either way, labor costs will be insane. Thank goodness for credit cards.

looks sweet. mind you I've got a soft spot for camaros having owned a gen 2. I'd probably get the frontend conversion kit if I ever bought a VE wagon (probably the only VE I'd buy).

also, nga's in oz have no probs grafting an S15 front onto a clapped out piece of shit S13 but think doing something similar on a bogan sled is wrong? you and your high horse can both fuck off.

so one of my friends got kicked out of the pub, she was too drunk we took her home, and more of her friends rocked up, then got ditched by my lift to take more girls out to a club - feels good man I guess it aint bros over hoes for him

you for real? my asshole looks better than that!

You still need 'Spark' to get power... I assume the bigger / better the spark, more so, the car runs smoother, rather then more powerful.

 no.

there's a limit to how much power your sparkplug can discharge, so no matter if you pump 11ty billion amps down it using your overpriced splitfires or just pump the necessary amount using brand new factory ones, the sparkplug is gonna spark the same. Once you have a spark, you have combustion, which generates your power. Up until then your car generates 0 power. In fact it just consumes it.

Put it this way, if a terrorist was to blow himself up and had 1kg of TNT strapped to him, and had the option of a $2 switch and a $200 switch, both of which work properly, which switch do you think will give you the bigger explosion?

Half the time people start sporting boners for splitfires and rave on about how much extra power they're getting, it's because they've just replaced their factory ones that are about 10-15 years old with brand new ones.

you can wire up a cheap MSD transformer setup for about $200 that will give you the same spark as any splitfires, any day. fact. not quite as simple as unplug and plug, but it's possible.

lol fine for driving manual on auto license is 90 bux no points

MANUAL IT IS!

I got 150 fine for that, and that was even when I had my re-test booked in :( f**king good for nothing police cant give you a break.

Reminds me when I got pulled over, around the corner from where a lady got killed at a servo. (Remember that guy that decided to light someone on fire)

Yeah true that.

What you said there is what I was trying to get at

The only reason people buy splitfires is because brand new factory coils cost a fortune. Don't think it has anything to do with power lol

    • Was planning on getting an R35 MAF and the adapter, should this be okay? Also any idea where I could get my hands on an intake pipe?
    • I mean yes, if you're starting from scratch on an unknown engine yes you don't need to be doing all kinds of math in the background but if you're doing relatively minor changes like AFM + injectors + boost up with some aftermarket turbos it takes quite a bit of math if you want to do something like maintain OEM fuel + timing tables but compressed and then a bit more load scale up top. I think I've spent too much time working on big engineering nightmares though so I'm a big fan of trying to constrain the scope of whatever work I'm doing as much as possible and trying to get it right before moving on. For example, a local owner just did the usual E85 + single turbo conversion to his R32 GTR and nearly burned his car to the ground doing some spirited driving up the local mountains. Turbine is unshielded and too close to the hood insulation. It's tough to balance "just get the project done" and "seemingly small details can cause massive setbacks I'm not willing to deal with".
    • No idea about Neil's steering wheel, but I have the same behaviour in the Stagea. I doubt it has ever been messed with so might be normal. Indicating to turn right at a roundabout and correcting even a little bit to the left to go around will cancel the indicator. Never considered it an issue other than it being a bit odd.
    • Does anyone know if this is off centered? Looks like it, when I indicate to go right, but turn my steering wheel slightly left it cancels (was always like that even before I started messing around with it) was wondering if anyone else has the same issue?
    • Nothing photo worthy since last update, lots of little plumbing bits for the AAC/Cold start valves, and unfortunately I still need another couple of parts for the brake booster line and the AAC into the plenum. Otherwise it all looks good to start up engine wise, onto checking the electrics/interior
