Did you say your singer was off AUS Idol?

Sounds like he's in it for the money and fame rather then the love of music... That's how I see it, I could be wrong...

In all honesty, I would not approach anyone from AUS Idol or AUS Got Talent shit but that is just me.

Is he a good singer?

Yeah, he had a shot in 2006 (when he was a bit younger and less experienced). Made it into the top 100, flew to Sydney etc. but didn't make it much further.

Then he sung/played guitar in front of 10,000+ people at Youth Alive for a few years.

Now he plays guitar in punk/pop rock band "FIDO", runs Grafete Studios and teaches music... So yeah, he is very busy. That's why I said he would probably only do gigs for $$ (coz it would probably mean dropping other projects).

He is a very passionate musician and a huge inspiration to me. When he agreed to sing/produce my project I couldn't believe it.

Sounds good!

See how you go.

bubbling paint on the walls is a bit random, but re-painting is pretty easy

im almost done my house, just got one roof section to do, all up nearly $1100 for everything, so just kitchen will be cheap

I think they must have used the wrong paint and the dampness is making it bubble (no extraction fan + cold climate)

Thinking of repainting the cupboards at the same time, currently they're pooh brown

He's booked months ahead of time for gigs all over Victoria, and has his own singing school

Wow, fair effort. After the hype dies down most idol contestants go back to their day job :P

What is your mate's name?

well that was my first day off in over a year, i have another 4 more days left and im already sooooo bored, i hate it.

here are some vids ive been watching lol.

why rev it so much before take off? its not like he's at a set of lights

63k when he bought it! LOL, 60s are the magical number for dealer imported cars, they must search the auction lots for cars in the 60k range. Its amazing there are still so many cars out there in Japan in the 60 range! Maybe everyone stops driving at 60 odd.

No offence to the seller, i'm sure the car is genuine, but.........anyway, doesn't matter

could be the fact to that by the time a lot of the 32s hit 60000km the registration was to expensive for them and a new car was purchased (as it goes itn jp)

but eitherway you have someone like stateroads check it and they will be able to tell by the bosy/interior etc condition if its legit

my mate just bought a xr6 turbo ute and damn they are very quick cars.

the funny thing is he bought it from queensland got it checked and stuff and they said the clutch is on its way out but everything else is perfect. he flew up there and drove it back, once it warmed up the clutch kept slipping until he got into nsw and it went so he had no clutch for the rest of the trip to melbourne lol. and he had so many bugs splattered on the front and stuck in the intercooler it was hilarious. he said next time he will get it transported down lol.

i dunno when you buy cars you wana drive them straight away

id look for one with everything working

Yeah but at that price, if everything else checked out, a new clutch and you're away for well under 20k...

As for the kms, 99% of the time they're gonna be bullshit. Again at that price, if/when the engine lets go you rebuild it.

    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
    • As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had some trouble with the Silvia's brakes dragging back in 2023. I managed to sort it out then, but the same problem came back to bite me late last year. Just take a look at the picture – I had a feeling the handbrake was acting up again, and I was right. Anyway, I'd been wanting to upgrade to bigger brakes for a while. Not that the Silvia's brakes were bad, but it was more of a "want" than a "need", you know? It was funny, though – at the time, I couldn't find any Evo Brembos, 350Z Brembos, or GTR Brembos for a decent price (of course, tons of them popped up online after I already bought my kit!). I ended up going with an F50 Brembo kit, which came with adapters, brake lines, 330mm rotors, and top hats. The F50 Brembo caliper was used in a few other cars too, like the FPV. I also decided this was the perfect opportunity to ditch the Silvia's ridiculous rear brakes and that awful handbrake (some of you were definitely right about that!). I picked up some R33 calipers and all the necessary bits – rear drums, backing plates, and new hardware to refurbish the calipers. Of course, it wouldn't be a project without a few hiccups. Turns out the brake master cylinder was playing up and basically (to put it simply) keeping the brakes engaged. I had it overhauled, and after some adjustments, everything was working again. The whole process took a while, as you can imagine. To top it off, the front right wheel bearings were shot and needed replacing too. This is a rare occasion where I'm posting an update while it's all still fresh! These pictures were taken just this afternoon.
    • I was just going to say that it's good to see you picking up the pace again. Hope the surgery goes well. More downtime just means more time to come up with new ways of digging a deeper rabbithole
