Any Melbourne Guys Get Hail Damage

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

Saturday around 2pm was driving with a friend in my new NM35

when the storm hit was pummeled by a few hailstones then i found a funeral home to which i nailed it to park

where the hearse drops off the bodies under a small tin roof to which the massive storm pounded massive hail stones for about 10-15 mins. my car didnt cop any dents but have a few friends who have.

mate with evo 6.5 (tom Mak) has every panel including the fibreglass bonnet and flared guards. the roof and roof rails

im sure this will be written off.

another friend with an Sti wagon lots of dents and a smashed back window. sure this will be written off too.

i also heard Ferntree gully toyota had 150 cars damaged

anyone on here cop it?

For your friends with the Exotic machinery, you would be AMAZED what the paintless dent removal guys can do.

My missus car was damaged in a hailstorm at Eastern Creek a few years ago, hailstones were fist sized! A woman was knocked unconscious by one!

Our Mazda 323 had in excess of 400 dents, every panel on the car was affected. Only one dent was repaired by a panel beater, right on the edge of the cant rail; above the drivers door, no internal access to push the dent. The rest were all done by the paintless guys. The car was PERFECT; absolutely incredible.

Nearly $6000 worth of work though, but it only took 4 days. A full respray might've been cheaper, but no way quicker.

Hopefully their cars are not written off, and are repaired, you never end up ahead in those kind of situations. Cheers, Dale

turns out the evo has been written off - he is planning to buy a v35 anyway so probably couldnt have come at a better time as his insurance will pay out more than he would have got privately.

others i imagine wont be as fortunate.
