Hi guys,

I'm a new member to this forum. So I still have a lot to learn....?????

Anyway with all these talks about finding and owning a GTR. I was just wondering anyone could give me some hints on their occupations, as with my current job I won't be able to own one until I'm 50. By then I will look like a try hard.

Cheers,

I plan to win lotto and buy this hell nice R34 GTR i've seen at a shop in sydney... :( that's the easiest way to do it... i just keep forgetting to buy lotto tickets... lol

i see a lot of drug dealers with nice cars... lol.... hmmm other than that, no idea... lol

I can only concur with Leewah, work hard and save. If price is the motivating factor, go for an R32, they'll set you back around 20-25K (anybody feel free to correct me here). Otherwise if you want an R34, start saving your pennies, and open a managed investment account, stockmarket's gonna give good returns this year :P (just some friendly unsolicited financial advice... geez, my degree does come in handy!)

If you have been working for 6mths or more fulltime than almost any bank these days will give you $25k without too much of a struggle. Then you only need to save another $15k and your home!

Of course, I wouldn't recommend this but hey it will work if you -really- want to get a GTR (and pay $60k for it instead of $40k for it :P)

Argh, argh aaaaarrrggghhh car loans!!!!! Sorry, just had to say that, but those things are evil just like credit cards. :P

I've been there, it's a much better feeling when you own it outright. There's no struggling to make payments, especially with 25K, it'd be at a fair rate of interest too, probably twice that of a house loan.

Does anybody know if they let you mod the car if it's under finance?

Best thing to do is start with something a little more realistic, IE a r33 GTSt.

My plan is spend some money on my GTSt, that way i learn the car/engine etc and get myself a good base of preferred Panel/Paint and Mechanical places.

Then sell the Gtst for around 20K, Goto the bank, show them i have a 20K deposit for it already, borrow 20K easily and pay it off in 1-2 years.

Going from basically nothing to a GTR is not a good idea.

They are very dangerous cars in the wrong hands.
