So i need to track down a new oil pump for an RB20DET - this seems to be more tricky for the RB20 than the other RB's

RB20DET oil pump from fast seems to be - 15010-79S05

while this doesnt correspond to any of the other RB entries

i.e. RB25DET is 15010-21U01

looking at around the $330 mark for an RB30et oil pump with the rb30e being more expensive than its turbo brethren.

the pump are interchangeable from what i can see and read, but thats rb26 and RB25 onto RB30 etc etc

can i run any pump on the RB20DET without any issues?

Unless it's a big dollar, big rev build there should be no issues. Differences are fairly general until you get into the N1, and they're really just built to be more efficient at high rpm.

The 25DE/DET run slightly higher oil pressure to cater for VVT but nothing likely to give you grief if that's what you can source.

The 30 pumps are significantly different and I don't think likely to be as efficient at higher rpm. In short, run a pump designed for a twin cam RB.

2nd hand oil pumps have to be opened up and inspected regardless. you'd be able to tell if it was too worn to use if you did this on a 2nd hand pump. could save yourself a few hundred too.

600 sounds like a decent way out of the problem.

N1 means crank collar aswel

Jun and better are more again

second hand rb20 could just fail aswel, so unless it was almost free I wouldn't touch it
