Help! Hitting Boost Then Backfire

Just put my stock turbo back on my r33 gts-t i get to full boost and car almost shuts off. does seem to be a i/c pipe leak any suggestions?

what boost are you running? if the car is boosting up then it feels like someone has just turned the key off then you are hitting the inbuilt protection in the ecu. this happens at anything about about 12 or 13psi (differs slightly between individual cars).

as for the backfire, is it a proper backfire or is it a misfire? if it is a misfire (lots of small little backfires) then it will be either your coils arcing out, or you spark plugs need gapping down (because your coils are failing, or the plugs are old and worn).

there is the possibilty of both being caused by a leak in the cooler piping though, as when the pressure builds up it can force open a tiny gap which makes the car run more rich and this will make the car run poorly.

Your description im assuming your talking about missfireing which is like constant spurts at higer boost which coilpacks or lower the gap or go a colder spark plug, if you have a leak in the IC you should hear a really annoying like siren noise when you hit boost unless its really small.
