Yep there is a few of us here Gary silver R32 GTR myself dark grey R33 GTR and i think Aaron Harliquin R32 GTR is on here as well . Might even be a few GTSt owners as well there is plenty of them getting around so no doubt there would be a few on here.

Hi Farside what car do you drive?

I am picking my new car up today from Transport. Exterior wise the car is standard, Super Silver GTR.

It has a fresh motor, new highflow turbos with steel turbines, 600cc injectors, Apexi Power FC, K&N pod filters and Exhaust. I dont plan on modifying the car anymore than it is.

My name is Jonathan if you see me around town say hello, Im very interested to see your guys cars.

Almost all of the Townsville GTR owners are here. There will be three R32 GTR's including mine in town. I am unsure how many R33 GTR's there are.

The truck delivering my car has been delayed and wont be arriving until 6pm tonight. I cant pick it up until tomorrow morning now. :D

Yes that would be mine on ross river road except it is dark grey pearl not black never owned an s15 used to own a black wrx and a black 300zx tt before that . Pretty sure there are 3 R33 GTR's in town midnight purple owned by some sort of doctor my grey one and another white one which is for sale the owner is sick of it breaking so he is getting rid of it.

HKS 2540 turbos, HKS dump pipes, power fc,AVCR boost controller,Apexi coilovers, HKS cam gears, HKS fuel rail, sard 700cc injectors, boshe 044 fuel pump,HKS intercooler pipeing kit,Nismo twin plate clutch,Nismo fuel reg,all Nismo speedo and 3 center gauges, GReedy electronic exhuast temp and boost gauges and holder, C's quick shifter,HKS super drager exhaust, HKS front pipe , HKS super power flow air filter kit , 80mm afm's,Cusco 3ltr oil catch tank,115mm custom intercooler i think thats about it off the top of my head.Ran 320rwkw on only 1.3 bar and has run 11.44 @122.95 with the boost controller not really setup right so should be able to run a few tenths quicker hopefully.

Services are done by Hammonds Automotive he is a family friend and i trust him so i wont let anyone else in Townsville touch it after a drama with Bob Hawkins . All mods were done by Gavin Woods on the Gold Coast anything major happens it goes to him.

I got the car yesterday morning it drives great. Unbelievable to drive.

I dont think the aircon liked the Townsville weather yesterday. I think I killed something, getting it checked out.

The only things im chasing now is a Replacement mag and a left air vent. They were both outstanding items when I bought the car, price was adjusted accordingly on the purchase price. Already got them put aside at Japparts Sydney. Is there a closer place to go for spares? at decent prices

The cars going great, alot better than the calais. Im used to slowing down for every corner and bump, when this thing just flies through them.

The Air Con compressor died. Theres a bung type thing in the back that just leaks the gas out now whenever we pump it up. I now need to find a R12 compressor for my car. Im going to try a few places today, we removed it yesterday after finding where the leak was.

I wont be driving it this week though. I left the car in the garage at my gf's cause the air flow meter is also cracked, has been repaired in the past. Its on the inlet side and is doing the job, but im going to fix it while im getting the ac up and running again.

    • Can you log IAT? Whilst WTA coolers have their place, doing any sort of sustained run is not one of them There are fixes that slow down the heat soak, like ice boxes, which don't last that long, and interchillers, which are fairly expensive, up grades to the WTA cooling radiator, which may require a bigger pump, and upgrades to the reservoir size,  and upgrades to the cooling fans, but, it all still heat soaks, and takes ages to come down in hot weather  For a turbo, that isn't locked into WTA like my PD blower is, can you not possibly swap to a nice air to air intercooler????, it would be better for sustained runs then, and have alot less things that could go wrong in my opinion
    • So, the other thing I've sorted is a baseline dyno run up at Unigroup's new location. The auto trans was a little unco-operative by both shifting down when the throttle was floored on the dyno (so Mark had to ramp it up more slowly than in a manual) and also by shifting up at 6,000 even in sports mode instead of the indicated redline of 7,000 Still, on a hot day it made 240rwkw at 16psi which seems about right for 300kw (400hp) through an auto at the wheels.  The shape of the curve is not quite right because it was not full throttle to about 4,500 to stop it kicking down, but until I can get a tune on the auto trans control this was the best we could do.....full boost will be well below 5,000 once that is sorted, I'll get some data logs when I can to confirm For comparison, the R32 made 255 at 12psi (at 4,500) on the same dyno with tune, n1 turbos, cam gears, big exhaust but otherwise all standard so the v37 is likely a little better out of the box. One thing that is very clear is that the standard water to air intercoolers are not up to sustained use at full throttle in warm ambient temps. After about 5 runs (so only a few minutes full throttle), it was pulling boost and timing and dropping 10-15% power. Unfortunately I didn't get that printout and the Unigroup guys are away at the moment, will try and get hold of it on their return. So, looks like a healthy engine to start modifying and the only real area of concern is the w2a heat exchangers which the aftermarket has plenty of solutions for
    • I maintain it actually looked really nice in person. So much so that I thought "No, this is illegal" but there it was, clear as day. I think we can easily call the wing and wheels/height to be transformative. Not saying it's better than the GR Whatever, or the 86, or the WRX STI or anything of that sort (the internet says it all bolts up so you can buy best of all worlds?) but it's still at least a thing and not nearly AS bad as people say.
    • That's less offensive than the previous gen.....except for all that ugly black tupperware around the edges. Blerck!
    • I leant out the window recently and took a picture of this new WRX. It looked real damn fine in person. It's faster around a track (stock) than a (stock) GR Yaris. It's much more practical despite being heavier. It's significantly cheaper. This gen tunes really well, much better than others. .... I think they're probably a lot better than people expect.
