r33 auto gearbox won't drop down gears

One of my mates auto in his r33 gtst wont drop down gears when he gives it a boot. does anybody else have a problem like this!!!

they sometimes dont when u have the power button on...one of my mates had something like that but i think it still did change gears. Not sure turn the power button off unless it is already. You auto might be having some problems. What i dont know.. Sorry cant help you atm. Maybe reset you ecu or something possibily the auto ecu may have stored something. A good reset does things good. I havent seen any threads on the forum about this sort of thing

yeah auto has the sensor... it has to be reach sudden RPM to down change... also in hot dyas the reaction time will be very long.

as redlineGTR said "RESET THE ECU"

Hi,

The power button is for early kick down and redline gear changes under hard acceleration, the hold button is the one that holds the gear under acceleration.

Has there been a audio/alarm system fitted lately? might have left something unpluged?

Also check fuses as the whole system is electronic.

You might want to run diagnositics on the auto to see exactly whats wrong this site might help:

R33's have 3 buttons as my friends dowes

Power(hold) & Snow

And the overdrive button.

It's different as to r32 from what i have seen. Yes and the diag should help too as above.

make sure the o/d light is not lid as the button on the auto gearstick holds the gear inplace. the side switch has 3 settings, snow (takes off in 2nd gear), auto (automatic) and power (changes gear upper rev range).

Are you talking about phsically putting it in 2nd etc when your in low revs 3rd ?

POwer button will make no dfference, its over riden by throttle position. Check your TPS, specifically the 3/4 position and the rheostat (variable resistance). More so the 3/4 postion switch though, its for kickdown.
